my high score tables

Post by jpj »

i've tried to setup my profile so that when people post scores up in my high score threads, it should send me an email. i'm not sure if it works properly though. so if you find your scores aren't getting updated, just send me a pm or email :) the tables in question:

border down
dodonpachi dai-ou-jou
dodonpachi dai-ou-jou black label
ibara
muchi muchi pork
pink sweets

cheers

I don't get all the emails either. Pretty sure it's something w/ the server (or phpbb).

I'm going to blame phpbb. On every phpbb-based forum I've been registered on, I've been randomly unsubscribed from topics. And since I'm doing that often to relieve the need of checking the forum for new messages, it sometimes upsets me to realize the threads in question have been replied to without me knowing about it.

Strange. It works for the high score lists I made.

High Score Lists: PatriotDark, Rapid Hero DP Offset Challenge, and Spark Spectra.

Do bloodflowers/Ghegs have anything against a forum upgrade here? The phpBB copyright at the bottom says "2001" and something tells me that this build was from back then. I know that it was like this in 2005 as well. I even remember avatars needing to be under 8KB.

Shoryuken's current forum layout would be a good example. It isn't even new, it's been around since 2005 too. Hell, I'd even go as far as saying that premium members (with forum benefits like larger avatars, a private forum, a rep system, and so forth) would work out quite well.

I can understand people not wanting to change because they're so used to seeing the same thing over and over, but there's always room to add a classic theme with what's currently available. When stuff ends up going wrong like people not receiving PMs and the email system being inaccurate, maybe it's time for an upgrade.

Seriously would be nice. This galaxy forum skin is ugly...
