On Sunday, the 4th, I was backing my Dad's Jeep Compass out of our garage, and got out of it the car to close the garage door. I must have forgotten that the car wasn't in park, fell out, and was drug by the car most of the way across our street.
At least one tire ran over both of my legs, leaving my jeans torn in the middle, and bloody. My Dad took me into ER, and they sewed up two layers worth of tissue in my left knee, the one that took the most damage. It's nothing less then a miracle that I had NO broken, or even fractured, bones in either leg.
They gave me an oral antibiotic as well as instructions to use Neosporin on the cuts (I also skinned up part of my right hand). I followed up with my general physician last Wednesday, and he told me to use ice on it, and I got some non-stick bandages that really help with the pain.
Praise God that the healing has gone remarkably well-I can bend both knees fairly easily, and will soon be on my way to have the stitches out.
My family's not doing so well, though. My Mom is sick to her stomache, probably over the stress that she was supposed to go into National Jewish, the best respiratory clinic in the nation (right here in Denver) to have some tests done, as her oxygen level is still fluctuating almost 3 years after having pneumonia.
My Dad has been having horrible back pain, and was diagnosed with Spinal Stenosis, which could involve surgery.
So, I think when I sign in this morning at the doctor's, I'll just write "Job"!
What a year, already!...

Dave the first part of your post was simply hilarious. Reminds me of some of the crazy shenanigans I used to get into when I was a teen. I hope your dad had a good sense of humor about it though! Just chalk this one up to experience and a good story that your relatives will never let you forget.
Sorry about your parents though. It sucks as your parents get older and more frail while at the same time it feels like you are just getting a handle on life. Especially as the economy continues to take more and more of a nosedive. You want to help those in your family that have been hurt the most by it but you are helpless while stuck in the unemployment line.
So it hasn't been such a good year for me so far. My job prospects are horrible and job ads are drying up. Now I'm competing against guys with 15+ years in the telecom/network industry for jobs that average 49k. Their high paying jobs have dried up so they move into a lower job market. I try out for PC help desk stuff but I am badly outmatched by kids who are masters at windows and linux. At this point I'll probably end up buying a set of crimping tools and doing cable jobs for a couple bucks an hour. This is going to be one shitty year.

Yeah, I have a feeling it will be a tough year for all of us. Well, I just had my stitches out, and everything's fine!
I'm not sure what to do about a job-my doctor says it's OK for me to do work as a baggage handler, despite some sciatic pain, because I'll get a back brace to work with. I LOVE flying, but I wouldn't be able to pass the FAA physical with the anti-anxiety medications I'm on. Learning how to fly is way to expensive anyway.
Honestly, the worst part about GameStop was that there just wasn't enough of it. If the Game Adviser position had been a steady 40, or even 30, hours/week, I would have stayed. Most of the employees were great to work with, despite the gossiping, and the customers were very loyal and friendly.
