Wonder Festival 2007: Photos of SHMUP ship models

Post by EddyMRA »

If this has been shown before, I apologize.

This convention in Japan showcased a treasure trove of SHMUP ship models. Included in the photo album:

*R-Type Final ships
*Several Darius bosses
*Gradius ships (several incarnations of Vic Viper, Lord British, Falchion Beta, and Jade Knight)
*Big Core mk-2
*Raiden mk-II
*Judge Spear
*What looks like the Ixion from Raiden Fighters Jet (attributed as Ace Combat 5)

Another site consisting of R-Type Final ship models: http://www1.odn.ne.jp/deeptown/

I want to own that BX-T Dantalion, as well as that Judge Spear.

I can't find anything that indicates that these models are being sold. I'd import the whole collection if that was so.

Looking at the pictures again, it seems they are being sold. Prices are set at 5,000 yen for the Gradius ships.

Anyone in Japan know if these ships appear in hobby shops or the like?

yes, all the Gradius ships are available as kits pretty much everywhere.
3800 to 4100 depending on where you get them.

Keep meaning to pick one of them up, might finally get one today.

Applause to those Japanese people that resisted their natural instinct to construct a woman figurine w/ huge tits and no panties.

Some of the best shmups don't actually end in a vowel.

Looks like the ADFX-01 Morgan from Ace Combat Zero, with the tactical laser mounted.

i picked up the Gradius V model today.

For those in Japan, Asobit model store has a time sale on with the coloured Vic Vipers at 1000 yen, Gradius 1,2 and 3 models at 2000 yen.

The Gradius 3 custom job on display at Aki Asobit is quite sexy.

Gradius 4 and 5 models remain 4500.

Will post a pic or two once it's build and recoloured (very slight custom job going on).
