I still use my GameCube to play GB games and some collections I have. I still don't have a Wii, though.heavymetalme wrote:...and 1000 questions later, the Gamecube is still useless compared to many other home consoles.
Gamecube Shmups? (and 3D rail shooters?)

I was referring to the restriction to interlacing when I mentioned that it was upscaled and filtered (it's also why I specifically chose that screenshot). I didn't mention this, but the graphics also look distorted in Namco Museum GCN, even on the largest setting (and this was tested with s-video and component).trivial wrote:BrianC: the non-anniversary Namco Collection for GCN has three selectable zoom levels.
2 questions:
1. Would I even be able to notice the "filtering" if I've never played the original games in an arcade AND if I connect the GC to a 27 inch Standard definition TV via composite? (yellow plug only)
2. Does Namco Museum 50th include multiple zoom views? Does it also have the "filtering"?
.
Please don't double post. Anyway, this is stuff that could be looked up via google or wikipedia. Please try to go there first before asking questions.dhowerter wrote:BrianC wrote:I know this full well, and it's exactly why I said the size is too small. 1. It's less noticeable on composite, but there is still a bit of a difference compared to the unfiltered original. However, the GCN/PS2/Xbox non 50th Namco Museum's largest size leaves a bit to be desired and doesn't show the detail as well as the originals.
2. yes, and yes. Also, as far as I know, only the Xbox one supports (or at least seems to) 480p.
As far as I know, Nintendo's online store still sells them, as well. That's how I got mine. Component cables are a bear to get for GCN, though. Part of the reason (but not the only one), I got a Wii.Ed Oscuro wrote:S-vid cables for the GC/N64/SNES first model aren't hard to find at all (unless you're in my house, I guess; I seem to have lost mine).

Couple points:
1. I didn't double post. (that's when you post the same thing twice). I simply waited about a week after my first post with the 2 questions, saw no one had answered, and made the request to answer them in the second post

2. It's hardly worth it to spend a good deal of time looking for whether Namco Museum 50th has multiple zoom views (assuming I could even find such a minute detail anywhere) when someone here already has the game and can easily answer the question

3. I also wanted impressions on the filtering on a 27 inch SD TV viewed by HUMAN EYES (not a screen grab on google images) with the GC connected via composite on a specific gane (Namco Museum); you can't really google THAT (it's a pretty specific situation there

That being said, thanks for the info. I appreciate it ^_^
