Gamecube SCART issues....

Post by Erinu »

Hey.. I own an European NGC and I've bought an original Nintendo SCART plug for it. I also own some older Nintendo stuff to play US Snes and JP Super Famicom, I bought some unofficial SCART cables (these cables work).

I have an AV Famicom (HVC-NFF) and no SCART cables work with it. Official or not, it doesn't matter. So far I've been forced to play the AV Famicom with those RCA plugs. Why is it, since the SCART plug is exactly the same for all these Nintendo consoles, how come the AV Famicom doesn't work with my cables?

Thanks.....

Because on the AV Famicom the pins for R/G/B are just not connected. To get RGB out of a AV Famicom you need to have it modded with a Nintendo Arcade PPU.

Your NGC needs to have a digital output on the back, later models didn't have it. The SCART cable that works on the NGC is a modded component cable and costs up to £50 in the UK.

www.ravengames.co.uk will make you one if you want to spend that much.

Although, im not really sure if the PAL cube supports it at all.
This industry has become 2 dimensional as it transcended into a 3D world.

the PAL cube has rgb via scart built in. that's the nice thing about it. and it can be put into NTSC mode with a modchip.
