For Advanced course, you would want several full bombers for the second battle with Blackheart, for one thing. But then, suiciding also gives you some bomber items...Plasmo wrote:But you usually don't need a full bomb item anyway. It's better to get the special extend and suicide to lower rank.
Armed Police Batrider (New Thread #2)
Really impressive replay there DMC!
Special thanks to toby for providing us with the .avi file! (I absolutely hate to watch .inps)
The only flaw besides the obvious stuff like broken medal chain etc was probably not destroying the cockpit right before the boss on the airport stage. You had 2 bomb fragments and it would've given you an easy 20 or 30k. (can't remember)
Will you continue playing normal course to get the B or finally change to advanced now?

SCORE PIC
Hi all,
I admit it's lame sneaking in at #30, but I just couldn't resist posting a score. I got this board a few weeks ago and have just started playing it in earnest.
There are some great players here to be sure and I'm just a scrub when it comes to high scoring! But I know I can do a lot better than 4.4 mil. I'm still trying out different characters, configurations, and orders. I am intentionally avoiding Mahou characters and the extra bosses (only extra boss on this run was Blackheart). Just trying to learn the normal course stages and get consistent scoring/survival patterns. Dropped my chain not once but twice.
OK, back to work. Next week=5 mil (I hope

Tweaked my player and stage order and finally broke 6 million on Normal. Dropped my medal chain on Bashinet right before he died before Highway. Only triggered Blunt. I think 7 million is easily in reach with some more milking, though I think I may start Advanced course instead.
NORMAL COURSE:
6,791,250 - Acid King - ALL - Flying Baron (A) / Strawman (B) / Miyamoto (C)
NORMAL COURSE:
6,791,250 - Acid King - ALL - Flying Baron (A) / Strawman (B) / Miyamoto (C)
Feedback will set you free.

Q: How do you dodge this flame attack from Grubby? is it even possible?
Or maybe it's better to ask how to not trigger it.

I switched to japan b-version now.
Edit: Btw, an advantage with japan b in comparison with korean version is: You don't have to suicide just because you're close to the extend in terms of your score. You can wait to suicide until the extend physically shows up.
This was a clear advantage when I reached 1.5M at Bashi with full stock but didn't need to suicide at neither bashi nor the sewage system boss. Thus I came fully prepared to the next boss. It's more flexible than korean version, plus you got 100k when you pick up a surplus extend.
However, this is a major disadvantage when you are on your last life or need an extend to trigger an extra boss.

I don't know if there's a way to not trigger it (he does it with or without his arms left), but how you dodge it is: when the attack is coming up, rush to the top of the screen and move in a circle counterclockwise behind it, then move back to the bottom and any more cycles will have gaps in them. Or you could just bomb, lol.
Oh also the number of degrees of coverage depends a lot on your rank, so if you're ranked down all the way, it isn't too hard to avoid, but of course this isn't very useful in general.
I use Japan B for special course too, but since it's a boss rush, I think Korea B is better. Just because when you have enough for the next extend, but you actually need to wait for it to come, that's very frustrating.
I have some scores too:
advanced course
9,552,550 - Enhasa - Stage 7 - Carpet (S)
special course
6,565,100 - Enhasa - Stage 13 - Carpet (S)
I'm actually not upset at all I didn't get the letter, because I had honestly one of my dream runs for any game with the 9.5. It all just clicked, I didn't once drop my medal chain, and I pulled off stuff like perfect Gob-Robo arms. Special course isn't much to say, it's just milk milk milk with Carpet.

I changed the order of the ships for the special course. Thus miyamoto was somewhat safe when I got to the three mahou bosses (bashinetmkII, tsuji, and hayate...or four actually since gob robo was prior to those three).
I am switching between versions also, decided to play japan for normal/advanced and korean for special. It is indeed an advantage to play korean in special, especially as envy, sobut, and blunt dont provide extends.
