Yeah, honestly. Nibris seems very open to ideas though. According to Nibris on C3, "We are working on our titles (DB, ROTR, SADNESS and one title for Wiiware) for you - Fans, not for media (sorry Adam This is a smilie).
Some of your thoughts (thanks Adam) we already added in last builds. So keep free to send all your ideas." Make sure you let them know how you feel about this.
Of course, that's just an opinion.

Since when is innovation and trying out new ideas considered bad?
It might turn out to be utterly rubbish, but you´ve got to commend them for trying (and who knows it´s the best idea since "power ups"...).

Only thing worrying me about this so far is the use of 2 screens to display 1 gaming world (the gap between the screens looks annoying to me indeed- but of course I haven´t been playing it and only watched the vids so experience might differ when played).

Yeah, I will still try it out and all but I usually like my shmups puristic, so that's why I reacted a little bit too emotional. Let's see how it turns out. =)

call me conservativ but yelling at & touching the screen while playing shooters (as a gameplay-feature) is nothing i wanna even try out

innovation is of cause a good thing - but when handling a classic (genre) you have to be very careful not to negate the roots

and to be honest the whole concept of "interactiv gameplay" doesn't compel to me anyway (never touched a wii to this date...)

So you are supposed to yell at your DS while playing this? In public? And not be commited to a mental institution? LMAO!

Most stupid gameplay idea in a shooter EVER.

Meh, just blow into the microphone and call it good enough. Who cares if it produces a weaker effect than screaming at your DS?

They've got a new website apparently in the works:

http://rotr-ds.com/

Note the name change again. "Response Operation Tactics and Rescue Unit"

All right, but its an 'innovation' thats hopelessly limited, as the only thing thats going to be able to take advantage of it is this one platform. And this is a portable device, and I for one was looking forward to getting the chance to play a decent shooter whilst on the train, waiting for friends in a cafe etc.

Now it looks like you can't without inviting weird looks and laughter. Whatever it is, I hope you can turn it off.

Ok.. can anyone explain how their wanna-be kakusei system works? The gameplay slows down for what purpose again...? So you can then use the stylus to circle or tap on stuff on the screen that you want to receive more damage...? Maybe I should have labeled it the wanna-be Otomedius bomb.

I mean, the game already looked pretty damn slow to begin with... and I really hope they work more on that soundtrack... it was painfully repetitive and dull.

Humm...
Nibris itself is a big hoax perpetuated to see how many videogame websites would go along with them...why continue to help them?

Is this still in development, or was it canned? It didn't look that bad

I actually clicked on this link thinking someone was making a sequel to River Raid. lol

I'm not expecting much out of this. I mean, it's a euroshmup. Come on!

Call me pessimistic.

Apparently the games were handed off to 'Bloober Team' (stupid name, right?).

Of course, since the reveal of said team we've heard absolutely nothing from them. What ever happened to Children of the Night too? That was a DS survival horror game they were supposidly making.

At this point I'd be amazed if Sadness ever came out.

epic SUCK!
imagine you're in a noisy environment like a train or a subway (where you are meant to play with your handheld) and the mic is always activated because of the noise around you. fun times wasting those weapons.
a huge game design flaw is approaching fast. it is identified as "Blowmaikurofon"

This is the first I've seen of this game... Is there any info on release dates or any sites with screenies? A quick google search brings little info.
