it looks like the main difference between the pcb/ps2 visually is that the pcb has much brighter colors/ more colors. the amount of detail looks about the same in the sprites, but looking at things like the water/lava (actually everything) the limited use of different colors makes everything look flat.

Thanks for posting that, incognoscente. I think 'flatter and more washed out' does indeed sum up the PS2 port, visually. The clip doesn't capture the poor slowdown implementation many people have a problem with. However, for the vast majority who, like myself, are non-expert, the video illustrates how serviceable the port actually is.
