Armed Police Batrider.
I love this game. The only problem I have with it is that I tend to die without seeing what killed me...

Come check out my website, I guess. Random stuff I've worked on over the last two decades.
RefRain - prism memories (c75)
New preview version with 3 stages
Meglilo the witchborg (c75)
The game is as ridiculous as it sounds: graphics, music, gameplay... but I have to say I haven't played anything this fun for a while. Instead of the usual bomb system you can warp anywhere in the field. The powerup system is interesting and scoring system is good.

Ketsui Death Label.
Finally got to play it on my new DS Lite today. Obviously the lack of screen space is a noticeable issue, but I'm impressed with what Arika managed to do with the PCB's assets on the DS. As it stands, I'd now like to play the PCB, if only to make better comparisons between each product.
Even if it is just boss rushes (with that one exception), I'm having fun with playing in short bursts. My thumbs are already aching at the thought of facing Doom.
Arika should consider developing more software for the DS (TGM PLZ). Ketsui Death Label stands as a good example of what else they could do with it.

A package with RefleX and Prizhm arrived this week so I've been alternating between those two.
I really like the whole idea of Prizhm with stages and bosses tightly synchronised to the music. Graphics might be ugly as hell but it's quite fun.

NOW REACHES THE FATAL ATTRACTION BE DESCRIBED AS "HELLSINKER". DECIDE DESTINATION.

Ikaruga.
[Finally! It might look terrible [due to my crappy laptop having integrated graphics, and NullDC not liking that], but it's so awesome!]

Ikaruga was epic the first time I played it. It still feels different from any vertical shooter till today. The art style and feel from the game is still unrivaled.
Of course the same can be said for Radiant Silvergun, but Treasure decides to keep that game on a niche console which is hard to come by and get modded. So unfortunately I haven't played that game yet.

as for the saturn....dont know where you live, but they are quite easy to get.....and the saturn is probably the easiest mod out there...and you can still get the chips from racketboy
or you can just use the swap method and then you just have to tape down a switch....but you need a retail game and you will need to patch the region for burned imports
as for radient silvergun....its in mame....the emulation isnt perfect....but it works well enough to save you spending $200+ to realize it sux....or mod a saturn and get the same conclusion
back on topic....been playing a bunch of non shmups this weekend
soul calibur pcb, rival schools pcb, jojo's bizarre adventure pcb, tekken 4(g/f's choice), mr driller 2 pcb, and of course futari.....been giving ketsui a rest for a couple weeks

RSG runs waaaay slow in MAME unless your PC is faster than 2.5 GHz.
PS: -fs 8 is the best option for games that run slow. Any higher, and the animation is too choppy to be playable.
[PS: I'm playing RSG. It's slow in MAME [my box is 1.3 GHz], but I can't get SSF or anything to work...]

From Wikipedia:
In other news, I haven't started playing for the morning, but I'm likely to fire up Batrider.
In computing, Streaming SIMD Extensions (SSE) is a SIMD instruction set extension to the x86 architecture, designed by Intel and introduced in 1999 in their Pentium III...

Some more Ikaruga, and I decided to fire up DoDonPachi after a long break from it.

Still not. Last change was in .124 [we're at .129], and had nothing to do with fixing the graphics.John845 wrote:Batsugun on MAME. Graphical glitches and barely any sound aside, this is a brilliant shmup. Anyone know when or if Batsugun has been emulated 100% yet?
