Try the Wii.
people are finally giving up on the dreamcast? I'm not getting a wii just for this. I didn't say it would be released outside of japan on the dreamcast but my best bet is they will come out with a dreamcast release.

2007 was the last year for official new DC releases. MileStone have currently sided with the Wii (MileStone Shooting Collection and now IllVelo), so I see them continuing down that line. Hopefully we'll see an IllVelo port on the 360.

The sarcasm is strong with this one.
Agreed.
There really wasnt anything else quite like the acting in that one, was there?
Anyway, as far as Im concerned a sequel to Radirgy or whatever the heck it wants to be called, is good news.
I quite enjoy the first one.... actually, as far as Im concerned all 3 of Milestone's current shmups that Im aware of are good; anxiously awaiting the collection version of them to hit the Wii in January.

I heard the "voice actors" consisted of the CEO's family members. That's about it.
Also, Re: Radirgy. I definitely didn't like the first one, so I'm not really looking forward to the second one. Opinions and motivation to want to play it will probably increase if I hear at least some positive word about it.
The 2/2009 at the top of the page is the availability date. The 1/15 and 2/15 at the bottom are preorder cutoff dates. I guess that means they'll make a second run if need be.
I think Lucky Co. Ltd. is the game's publisher/distributor.
Below the game logo it says "Name by MAYUMI"(?) I don't know what that means.
And it's Maniac Shooting!! How can that not be awesome?
Oh! There's some videos up! I gave them a watch, and it showed some neat co-op mechanics, some new voice clips, and reused music.
...Yes, you read that right. Reused music. I hope this is just for demo purposes (Or elaborate trolling), and Milestone is cooking up some new tunes for the game. Really, It's hard to believe that this is the by the same company that made a game as aesthetically strange as Illvelo.
Watched the videos. I think it looks fine. It seems to have the same kind of nice flow as the first game. The new powerups may or may not add an additional layer of strategy.
Other observations:
- Either it's much more difficult to keep the multiplier up or the players in the videos just plain suck
- No bonus items to collect from the ground?
I'm not happy about all the reused sprites and enemy waves, though.

I'd assume so, otherwise they can't make any money from sales of the new soundtrack, heh heh. The game does look like more of a "remix" or "expansion" than a sequel, though...

I'm going to assume that the recycled OST is just a place-holder for this Loke-test version. Also, level 3 is really short.. it needs to be at least twice as long.
SockPuppetHyren wrote:But that poster...is not like the other two. In fact, they're all drawn differently. Where is Milestone getting all of these extra artists from?
Actually, why is the artist on the website different from the one in the poster? For one, the two other characters now look incredibly more generic than they've used to.
That said, two player but essentially still the same game/assets? I guess we're not losing much if the 1st game doesn't officially come here.
Whoah, didn't even know about this. I like Milestone's stuff so this is great news. Plus it's likely to come to the Wii at some point, if the Ultimate Shooting Collection is any indication, so that's good news to me as well.
"I think Ikaruga is pretty tough. It is like a modern version of Galaga that some Japanese company made."
Looks good, but it's really coming out to be a Radilgy 1.5. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing if you really dug the first one.
Too bad that it will be ported to the Wii. That's not necessarily bad, either, but it seems to be taking eons for anything Milestone to be released on the system stateside. Just another reason for me to fix everything so I can import these titles...
Of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind the most.
Speaking of which, who's willing to bet Ultimate Shooting Collection will be delayed yet again? I'm telling you, this game is cursed. And I will probably never see ms. nerd glasses Tadayo in translated form...
