I've got stage 1 down perfect. today I've been working on stage 2 which is where I seem to always die.

I really need to work on my skills in this game if I'm gonna get the WR. also to get these scores that are in the millions, what would be a good score for completing the first stage.
I think that it's quite ridiculous if you think about getting a world record in a game you have hardly played at all. Beating both loops should be already a VERY big goal you'll probably never going to reach. I don't want to demotivate you, please keep going! But on the other hand, please stay on the ground.

No you haven't. You need to (at least!) double your score. Note that I can say that without knowing your actual stage 1 score.

look people, I'm a very quick learner of games, I watch some videos pratice like 3 hours a day and I can in like say 3 months have a higher score then everyone here. there are some games I'm so good at I can close my eyes and beat the game without looking once.

If your Stage 1 and 2 look anything close to these video clips: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=A7V5QI78 , then you're on the right path. These were taken off nico video and are in my opinion done extremely well for what I've seen and played in this game. Ideally I would've like to have posted a new highscore to go with this data but I haven't busted out UD in while, perhaps I will do that now though. Good luck with the WR run, you aren't alone in dreams of being the best.

Be warned that most WR holders spend months on the same game... sometimes years.

If you can't get past 1-2 after 10+ tries, you're not going to get the world record. Sorry, but it's the truth. Maybe you should set your sights a little lower first?

edit: oh, I saw the other thread. You've been playing this for a month??? This is all an elaborate troll, right?

oh good lord idiots. I said I've been playing the game like crazy for over a month. I've owned the game for over a year now and beaten it. I just die a lot when I do decide to beat the game. a troll I'm not. its as if people here don't want somebody to try to do something so they say haha and try to make the person feel like shit.

What do you mean with "beat the game" and "die a lot"? You only have 2 lives, I wouldn't call that a lot.
Please don't tell me what I think you'll tell me.
On another note: Why do you sometimes "decide" to beat the game and somtimes not.

look the thing is when I beat the game I die a lot as in I must use continues a lot which resets your score to 1 point everytime so that's why my scores aren't so great.

if you have been playing this hard for a month and still cant beat the second stage without continuing you suck.....not just a little bit....you are on par with my g/f(who is half blind and guesses where bullets are)

you shouldnt get angry for people pointing out your shortcomings....you say you are good at games and learn fast....but with over a month for 3 hrs a day and still cant get past the second stage i would seek medical attention and realize that you, in fact, suck at shmups and dont even seem to have a grasp of how to play them properly....

and beating a game by continuing until you get to the end is not 'beating it'....anybody can insert another coin.....

you are sure you are 19? cuz i could understand all of this from a much younger person....but someone your age should have a better grasp on reality....

but rest assured there is medication that will help you.....but you have to take it for it to work

I'm 19, too. But I'd never say I could beat the WR of some game, if I indeed can't even finish the 2nd level.

At the moment, I try to get some competitive score in Crystal Castles (Arcade) and after only 1 week (with far less training hours per day, than lilmanjs) I'm close to 100.000. Still far from Mark Alpiger and Frank Seay.

Finally KO'ed St2 boss without death. Too bad I got retaliation from St3 boss immediately. I think in practice of St3 I'll need to up the rank offset next time.

If you've no missed up to stage 3 in arcade mode, practice with the rank for that level at 10. This should be fairly accurate (it might be 9 depending on your performance, but edging it up a little can only improve your game).

my first highscores post, its a bottom feeder but happy with my 3 hours of labor.

528,540 1-2 normal

I've practiced the boss on stage two and can clear him without dying, but i tend to botch things up when running stages consecutively. Hopefully i'll have an update soon.

Sort term goal, reaching stage 3 :)

First of all, I'm new to shmups. Which might explain my low score

My gameplay counter is at 4 hours now. I'm happy I finally got that second boss killed. :D
