How exactly did the statement go again?
Last time I read it was dubious at best and a translation that may not have been 100% on the mark. I've yet to see an official statement from anyone from MS about this so until then I can only remain skeptical.
A shit game? Where did I say that? All I'm saying is that whatever 5pb presented wasn't up to the standards XBLA games typically have. Simple things like HD resolution(which could just as easily be accomplished with a crappy filter which tons of ports have already used), online multiplayer(which regardless how any shooter fan feels about it it's typically an attractive option....It doesn't have to be perfect. Look at Castle Crashers, the online play still doesn't even work), and leaderboards(again a simple thing).
Thus the definition of "faithful" is left up to interpretation. Again I'd like to know why MS would only target arcade ports when lately we've already seen they don't mind arcade games nor do they mind faithful ports of N64 games(Kazooie and Tooie soon enough)
Also Treasure put both RSG and 360 on hold themselves. Whatever MS might have said had nothing to do with it. At this point they're focused on Sin & Punishment 2 and watching the 360's situation before they consider going back to work on the un-named shooter. RSG they simply don't have the resources for it especially since it would require a larger investment of time and manpower than Ikaruga.

Name recognition didn't seem to stop Triggerheat Exelica. Maybe it would these days? Who knows. Regardless it doesn't do anyone any good to continue running off speculation as fact.
MS drops the ball on RSG and new Treasure game, gives us....

Excelica was released before the news that MS would be cutting down on arcade ports.PepsimanVsJoe wrote:Name recognition didn't seem to stop Triggerheat Exelica. Maybe it would these days? Who knows. Regardless it doesn't do anyone any good to continue running off speculation as fact.
In any case, it also had loli appeal, which trumps name appeal by like twenty thousand points.

Retail vs. XBLA, there are lots of games for the 360 in Japan that appeal to this fanbase which never get brought over.PepsimanVsJoe wrote:Yet we never got Idolm@ster released in the US. What's up with that?CStarFlare wrote: In any case, it also had loli appeal, which trumps name appeal by like twenty thousand points.
XBLA games almost always have worldwide releases. I doubt that Triggerheart's main demographic was the west. The game sold very well in Japan, I think it's the #2 most popular XBLA game here.
