The USA version of Gekioh: Shooting King was released weeks before it's JPN version counterpart thanks to Natsume USA. ^_~
Gekioh doesn't have tate either. The ST-V cart of Shienryu is the one to own/play since it is the original arcade version barnone. And it looks great on a low-res 15.7kHz monitor setup. ^_~

Well, the Saturn hardware is closer to the original, I'll grant that. However, the PS2 port is arcade perfect, afaict. PS2 component output + the ability to play on a PS3 = win.D wrote:fixedprofessor ganson wrote:Btw, the PS2 version is the best playstation console version. I'd like to pick up the ST-V cart at some point, though I seriously doubt that it would be an improvement on the PS2 port.
Sat version is probably bestesest.

Yes a native 240p game looks better upscaled to 480i.professor ganson wrote:Well, the Saturn hardware is closer to the original, I'll grant that. However, the PS2 port is arcade perfect, afaict. Yes.
(I seriously doubt the ps2 version has a 480p mode.)

OK, cool! 240p!BulletMagnet wrote:IIRC there is some sort of low-res display option for the PS2 version which gives a pretty nice-looking picture - the one real shortcoming it has is the lack of a high-score save. Oddly enough, despite the myriad releases the game has gotten, only the Saturn version lets you save scores.
I stand corrected!
Would someone someday list all ps2 shmups with 240p and 480p modes?
