Ikaruga t-shirt design (feedback obtained)

Post by Observer »

Ok, my friend knows how crazy I am for the schmukmups and, well, let's also take into account the fact that I dragged her into the genre by my constant "OMFG EPIC" at pretty much every shooter, let it be Gradius V, DoDonPachi, Darius, Armed Police Batrider or doujin STGs.

So, after blabbering so much about shootan games she bought Ikaruga for the Gamecube because, well, it's Ikaruga. And so we come to the key point: she liked it and, thus, designed a t-shirt inspired by it.

-X-

Please, refrain from any Ikaruga bashing. She's more interested in getting feedback about the design itself. There are plenty of threads where you can go and bitch about Treasure/Ikaruga so please don't kill her will to try more STGs or I'll freaking murder you all. =P

Oh, yes, sorry if it sounds blunt and, of course, thank you in advance for your feedback.

The t-shirt should be black on one side and white on the other so she can change polarity.

Looks kind of bad, sorry to say, just because it's this big rectangular pseudo-screenshot of the game in the middle of solid black. I don't know anything about fashion or whatever, but the design is just unappealing to me.

What's up with the washed out colors? That's going to look even worse once the shirt has been washed a couple of times
If more 2D people would go to the 2D Gaming Forum, there would be more people to talk about 2D games with other 2D fans on the tootie gaming forum. It's 2Dlicious. For real yall

It's actually the limitation of RB system... Quite sucky if you ask me and main reason I never bothered with it. Ah, well, it's a test so no biggie. Thanks for the input too.

Using the image as tate'd wallpaper would be more appealing.

T-shirt designs work best with 1-2 colors...

IMO, it should be simplified.

Ok, thanks for the feedback, people. I've taken out the link to save further hassles or brain seizures.

mmm, if any mods see this you can close this now. I quite liked the idea of a black/whiet shirt... Argh, it's a pity Red Bubble's way of handling shirts suck so much. It can't even do transparencies that well, even if you submit the proper png file.

ive spoken to PC about me reprinting these for him again. I think its totally dooable. I would either have to change it a bit for vinyl or make them with a guy who does all my screen printing for me (I do all his vinyl work for him)

@ Observer

Ikaruga is a very popular shirt of mine, as long as the logo is nice it will sell. I personally will not make an ikaruga shirt in anything other than black white or silver foil ( its jsut wrong in anything else lol )

If your thinking of making a shirt i sugest you get a few ideas on paper and then make a thread people voting on them. If your going for screen print I would recomend you get as much of the art work done before hand. The printer will try to fob you off with all kinds of extra costs but your looking at a minimum run of about 50 if your wanting to make cash and about 30-40 if you want to just break even.

prices can be a bit mental too. They charge you for the screen and then for the ink used. If you are having diferent colours they charge you for washing the screens and the price starts creeping up. Vinyl (what I use) is good becuase you can do much smaller runs and I personally am able to do a lot more in the way of customisation colours, names placing of logo sizes and such. only problem is if you want lots of fine detail it can takem hours to make or you just cant do it.

If you want me to have a look at your designs i might be able to produce them for you. ive worked with Maxchain, SkyKid and also other people on other forums. But I wont be able to start producing anything new until Feb 09. ive got too much of my own stuff i want to reveal before then :D

in all the catalogs i have of various whole sale places i deal with I have never seen a propper reversible shirt. If your ok with all the stiching being on the outside its dooable but other than that i cant get hold of them through my regualr network. I can get reversible jacckets though.
RIGHT! enough thread jacking back to observers tees

where is the design I dont see it or a link anywhere?!
