Do they have to be arcade games? I think I would rather bring a piano or something, then at least I could learn something moderately useful for all those years...

Hm...Either DOJ, DFK, or Ketsui, whichever has the best soundtrack. Wouldn't know, haven't PLAYED THE DAMN GAMES.

Non-shmup arcade game...hm...um...........................................................................A giant crane game with hot girls, booze, food, and shmups in it.

For a shmup, I'd take Radiant Silvergun. I've never played it seriously, but considering the insane amounts of time you need to master this game, I guess it'd be a good choice for a desert island scenario.

As for a non-shmup, I really can't think of any arcade game I wouldn't get bored after playing for a few months. To keep me interested for years it'd have to be an open-ended game where you can play it differently every time. Like Unreal World or Dwarf Fortress.

Or, if I somehow had internet access, I'd play Go online all day.
