any recomendations for some shmups that are downloadable?

i got a real fast computer and nothing to do with it and i need some more shmups because i'm getting bored of the other 1st person shooters, and i got a real slow internet that gets slower if i download a bunch of stuff

ok then.how do you get them to work. i downloaded some but i can't figure it out,DOSBox is retarded and wont play it and i never really knew how to work MAME so i'm sort of stuck in a boat without a paddle

Almost all of the games on that site are just Windows or Flash games. No DOSBox or MAME required.

...and so far, everyone here has failed you in not suggesting actual games. There are over 1000+ games on shootthecore and maybe less than 100 of them are worth playing.

Here are a few that are definitely quality:

Warning Forever
Flew Fighter
Cho Ren Sha 68k
Solid State Survivor

That should keep you busy for a bit of a while

i already got CHo Ren Sha 68k, and it's mad fun but i get totally pwned at it and blue wish resurection is to big for my bandwidth it's got to be under like 20 meg

OK well just get MAMEUI32 (google it). Then extract it to a directory. "Find" some roms and put them in the roms directory inside of the MAMEUI32 directory.
Here are some good ones:

DoDonPachi
ESP Rade
Battle Garegga
Battle Bakraid
Armed Police Batrider

Leave them zipped, they don't need to be extracted. Then, in MAMEUI32, go to file-audit all games. Do that. Then under all games, right click where all the titles are listed, click custom filters, and check "Unavailable". Now you can see all the games you've downloaded and can play. When a game is running, press TAB to do control config etc.
