Need info on resolutions

Post by gundamalpha »

May I know what are the conventional analog (free on air) resolutions? NTSC and PAL difference? And 240p vs 480i difference? Really sorry for the noobness

Lots of technical specs for NTSC and PAL are on wikipedia. I'm sure wikipedia has more details on 480i and 240p. Just know one is interlaced 480 lines (or so) or resolution, and the other 240 lines of non-interlaced (progressive).

If you're interested in the real nitty-gritty of it all, read this:

Then all resolutions will make sense to you, and you'll see past the marketing talk.

Ok, thanks guys for pointing them out, really appreciate it. Just a quick question, so the free on air displays in NTSC regions are 480i I assume? I will read through all those links in a moment :)
