Looking forward to it?

This sounds like a topic that belongs on Ceph's off topic area in his 2D gaming thread. Let's continue the talk there!!
Side note.... I'm sold on GOW3, besides MG4 it's one of the PS3 exclusives that made me get a PS3.

Damn Tim, you know there are quite a few Americans out there who still lives in tents due to this shitty economy, and you're dropping loads on a single game which only last 20 min. Do you think it's fair? How much did you spend this time?

GOW3 is the only game I bought my PS3 for. I can imagine for the most part GOW3 will have a kind of organic, dirty, gritty, sweaty look to it.
I don't know if I should expect 1080p native, or thereabouts for this one. I am excited about it though. Its one of those games where the environments are so cool just to explore until the next bad guy jumps out of nowhere.

Hey guys, GoW1 and GoW2 for $10 each over at Amazon. I got both, so now you can know about it.
BTW, check the Onimusha and DMC collections. All three games from both franchises for cheap.

I would download the 1080p trailer which is in mov format. I converted it for my PS3 and it looks

Im guessing 720p @ 60fps at this point in the PS3 timeline.
That particular trailer is available from the US PlayStation Store since thursday in 1080p resolution.

Oh wow, I'll download it there again then. I am in the UK and I don't think its on the PSN there at all.
I read the game will output in 1080p. Obviously this does not mean it will be native 1080p. But most games that output in 1080p look better on my TV because my TV is 1080.

I'm not "slandering" anyone - the fact of the matter is, big images make a mess of these forums, so I changed them. Feel free to post stuff, but if it's too big (don't think there's a specific rule on image sizes, just use common sense) link it instead of displaying it outright. That's all.neorichieb1971 wrote:Every other forum has them linked one behind the other. How am I supposed to know this? If your going to slander someone, at least do it in private. I won't bother posting anything next time.

We should consider making rules about posted images. It does get annoying to have to scroll left and right to read messages. Also, avatar and images that flash different colors non-stop are a supreme eyesore.

GoW2 was pretty high in the gore department. The sequel being next gen would be a disappointment if it didn't bump up the detail considerably. After going 10 you can't go back to 9, just have to go forward. That said, I was shocked when I saw Helios' face twist in pain and his neck muscles snap. This game will make fucking MK blush.Lordstar wrote:fatality?Ruldra wrote:Eh wtf, this one is getting way too gory

I was a huge fan of the first one, didn't find the second quite as good, so I'm on the fence for the third. If I had a PS3 it would be automatic, but since I don't I have to ponder getting one.
It's the design of these games that impresses me. They take the fairly standard light attack/heavy attack/jump 3D action formula and turn it into a very satisfying combat engine that feels more sophisticated than it probably is.

I agree with these statements, but I did enjoy the first two. They're solid action games with a lot of personality and fun gameplay.More fun to sit and do something else and watch a friend play, IMO.
If (probably 'when') I eventually get a PS3, this is the sort of game I'd rent or borrow from a friend rather than buy. But I'd want to play it.

It's cool to hear this guy talk about the game mechanics, but I find it hilarious that he has such a hard time taking command of the game after watching the guy in the gamespot video absolutely destroy.UnscathedFlyingObject wrote:Go watch the dev walkthrough in Gametrailers now! Not for pussies!
