Doesn't this work? I wouldn't know; I accidentally did the October update.RackGaki wrote:I would love to purchase this game (not too many Wiiware games get me to say that), but my installation of the Homebrew Channel has made that impossible, at least for the moment.

Of course, that's just an opinion.

It's excellent fun. It's hard to call, but I doubt it's what most of you guys would call a shmup. Yes you shoot stuff, but it's not bullet hell. I love the camp and very retro radio messages from the humans. It's just a very fun game and not to be taken too seriously. I'd compare it to the likes of EDF 2017.

Yeah! There's definite scope for replays. There are hundreds of buildings to destroy on each level, but the main focus of the game is to clear a certain objective or list of objectives, within a tight time-frame. When you send your squad of Invaders to do a certain task ie. kill an attack helicopter or gun emplacement, they do so, but it takes a little time for them to do it and return to you. That's comparable to a time consuming reload, so in order to increase the time available to you, you'll want to destroy buildings etc, as doing so gives you a time boost. Also, buildings contain bonuses and power-ups, so the replay value is in finding the buildings with power-ups, within each level. The power-ups have a retro Taito theme to them. You'll find Kiwi/Bub & Bob from New Zealand Story/Bubble Bobble etc.
Scoring is combo based, so don't take hits - obviously. When hit, you'll lose some of your Invaders. A quick shake of the Wiimote replaces them, but in doing so you risk being hit again.
Challenge-wise, it's quite a tough game in parts, you're being attacked from all angles, but providing you're nimble enough with your left thumb, you should be fine. It's very pick up and play in bursts, like Star Soldier R, rather than something you're going to play religiously.
Edit: Tried some of the other ships. They play more like a straight shooter, but seem to detract from game, rather than add. Stick to the classic.
