The problem with this is that you're more likely to miss out of the Rezes of gaming. I bet many shmup fans wish they'd gotten Radiant Silvergun when it came out instead of picking it up on ebay.

That is true, it would have really helped if Radiant Silvergun had a US release. I now it's supposed to be the best shmup ever made, but geez, the prices are ridiculous! It's like the Ferrari or Lambogini of the shmup world. No, wait, if RSG were a car, it'd be the 1995 McLauren F1 LM. Overpriced and overrated. Battle Garegga would a Porsche.

The first-generation 3D consoles will always leave a bad taste in my mouth. The N64 made me lose faith in Nintendo. The Saturn is cool though.
It's either a Divx Certified player or a DIV-X player, you know, the pay-per-play, connected-through-a-modem, so-we-l337-content-providex0rz-know-what-j00-watch-and-market-more-of-our-l337-crap-to-j00 failed DVD player standard that attempted to compete with regular DVD back iin the day. (Trivia. LucasArts and Disney supported wholly this Pay-per-play DVD system. Proof that they are Satan and the Antichrist respectively.)

Yeah, damn them for promoting a method of making money.
The last console generation I skipped was the NES/SMS generation. Yep, I missed that generation.
Well, my brother had an NES, so I did get to play many of the games, but I still spent most of my time with our Commodore 64.
I don't think I'll skip a generation any time soon, though I may skip a 'brand'. I skipped the GC this time around (though I did own one for a month after launch before selling it).

Making money is not something that justifies everything, you know.
