Looks like a bunch of fun.
So the touchpad is to poke at the Lolis breasts then...

As for the game, it looks decidedly unremarkable.

Yeah, I don't know why they shoved the price up even further after release. Given how much use the touchscreen is going to be used, it seems more of a unique novelty over a collector's item or anything. Unless they're really that pricey to manufacture in the first place, but that'd mean the people who preordered at a lower price are actually getting a deal here. I never thought I'd say that on something so expensive.

I would have preordered this myself but it's just way out of my price range. Plus, I already have a stick, so.

I assume your monitor is 16:10? Then this is alright, as the widescreen mode is in 16:9 and obviously the game recognizes that you'r playing on a 16:10 screen. Otherwise the screen would be stretched and you would fly up / down slower than left / right.

So far the only 360 shmup that displays in the right proportions on a 16:10 screen was Raiden Fighters Aces.
Both Shikigami 3 and Raiden 4 are displayed in the wrong proportions on a 16:10, very annoying.

Sounds like you're going to get charged import tax.

probably shipping charges. Have you seen the boxes ? Do you know the boxes Hori uses for their HRAPs ? They didn't just put the game inside these boxes, but they built a giant box around a Hori-sized box - quite insane ;)

573 is a pun on the word Konami using the first syllables of the Japanese words for the numbers.

My impressions of the game...be aware that I seem to be the only person who's actually invested a lot of time and money into the arcade version, so I'm just going to talk about the actual port stuff and not gameplay impressions...

-Sound seems really high, much higher than my other games. Great to be able to hear the music in glamorous 5.1 though, sounds a lot better than the arcade.

-Arcade mode's window is all weird, the top and bottom get cut off unless I reduce the zoom. Gorgeous mode is fine.

-Right stick to control the touchpad is kind of a weak substitute, but I guess there was nothing better they could do. Sensitivity is too fast. I don't have the stick so I can't talk about that.

-New levels are underwhelming. One of them is just 100% references to oldskool games in the -dius series, which will probably have you cracking a few smiles.

-Gorgeous mode overall is pretty interesting, it plays completely differently from the arcade version, no elements to collect and has a more oldskool progression system. You get far less capsules, which makes sense. Has actual storyline sequences, go figure.

-There is slowdown in Gorgeous mode, I don't know if it's intentional or not. Arcade mode doesn't seem to suffer from it, and the slowdown is very, very inconsistent. Crazy screens will have no slowdown and screens with just simple patterns will crawl, it's bizarre.

-Shop is an alternative to the unlocking system in the arcade version.

-Multiplayer seems to work fine.

-You need a Japanese account to download the schoolgirl outfit, obviously. You just select her as a separate character, seems to have the same weapon outfit as normal Anoa.

-Somewhat annoying having to unlock all the weapons again after getting them all in the arcade version.

Sure, Gorgeous mode is like a completely different game. They definitely added enough content to make for a worthy home port, plus who knows what else they'll add with DLC down the road. If you haven't played much of the arcade version, it's definitely worth getting if you have a J360.

Taken from Playasia:
There are new characters and stages on the net which you can download for your own games. Aside from gaming elements, you can also get the BGM pack via the market place so there are new elements coming up regularly.

:?:

Is the touchscreen/right analog stick essential to game play?
I have this game in transit right now and am excited to play, but economic hardships have made it tough so I was unable to get the stick bundle

I cannot stand the 360 dpad
If I can play with out the functions of touchscreen, I have plan to use my current stick for playing this game.

There's some sort of targeted attack done with the touchscreen on the arcade.

$389.50 for this can GTFO however. I could have a PCB for that price. Shame there isn't a separate touchpad to plug into another of the USB ports. Not that $250 sounds bad though- damn shipping charges and other shit.

Shame there isn't a gun controller or a Wii style remote on 360. Point-and-shoot sounds like a good alternative to touching the screen for a home version.
Kinect? KIN NOT.

OK, let's do the math (using Play-Asia prices):

$300 shipped for 360 arcade
$425 shipped for Otomedius + gorgeous stick
$70 shipped for Ketsui

vs.

$999 for Ketsui PCB
$500 for supergun + stick (almost) comparable to the gorgeous stick

Almost half the price for the 360 set-up and you get Otomedius + a perverted touch pad. Not to mention you are able to play at least a half dozen other shmups on an HDTV, if you have one, relatively inexpensively.

It isn't a yukkuri, it's from Space Dynagon.
$999 for Ketsui PCB
Ketsui for the 360 is TBA, the PCB is overpriced, and supergun + stick combos do not cost 500 dollars.

Gorgeous mode doesn't have any touchscreen functions.

For arcade mode...the only touchscreen gameplay is if you do a full burst, so if you only do short bursts then it'll be fine. I think you might need to use the touchscreen to select levels too, so you might need to swap out, or maybe there's a way to choose levels using normal controls?
