Where is the video at?
Would it have killed you to have linked directly to the video?
Or do you think we all know japanese around here?
First of all, that is a direct link.

Second of all, just fucking google it.

Its all in japanese...can you post directly to the video..you know like click a link and boom...video, or does that go against japanese tradition?

It is a direct link. If I click on it, I can view the video. It's called having an account, which is what I've just said. You can get one by following a guide, which you would've found if you googled it in the first place. So unless you want to continue whining like a retard, I'd recommend getting an account.

Nobody expects you to know Japanese in this thread. But common sense expects you to realize that if stuff comes up in a different language, asking you for a name/pass, you need a fucking username and password.

Yeah, instead of taking my initial advice of googling it and seeing that you'd need an account to view a video, it'd probably be a better idea to continue complaining about how it somehow isn't a direct link and why this dastardly username/password screen is presented.

The only thing lost here is 10 minutes of my time to discover that you're a retard who can't follow basic instructions that a 5 year old could comprehend. I'm not sure what you expect from me - you wanted instructions, I told you what to do, and you continued to argue the fact that it wasn't a direct link despite the fact that it was. At least have the decency to admit when you're wrong.

As for nicovideo, have fun looking up things in English and wondering why you're not getting any results.

I'm not sure this is true. Whenever I unlock the first DDP boss I always see the others. I can’t say if I’ve died on one, but I've certainly have lost my chain and miss lots of bees (I've not even looked into where they are). Was this another change with 1.5, perhaps?

In addition to the Death Smiles bullets they also have some Futari ones floating around in the 2nd loop. Not sure what fires them but its a cute little reference (and the subtle DOJ musical references during the DDP bosses is awesome too). It's a fanboy jerk off, and I like it.

Er...

Elixir did exactly what you asked. NicoNico is basically the Japanese equivalent of YouTube. I assume at the time there was not a comparable video on YouTube, so he linked you to NicoNico. It absolutely is a direct link in every possible definition, I can see it right now. The difference is that you need a (totally free and easy to get) account to view videos on NicoNico, unlike YouTube, for whatever reason it's just the site's policy and how it works there. If you don't know Japanese, throw the site in a translator or learn some key phrases to get you by. I know you were frustrated but he deserves no gruff, nor the "butthurt japanophile" moniker. Just because someone is educated enough to use NicoNico doesn't make them a raging anime fanboy.

Just sayin. ;)

This site allows you to watch nico videos without an account. Just swap the "sm-something" number in the URL to the one of the video you want to watch.

Yeah, I made a typo there. You can't die or bomb on a midboss, but you can break your chain. Anyway, I've edited the review to be less specific here, so as not to cause any confusion. You do need to collect all the bees to see ALL of the midbosses. If you don't, you'll see the first few and then the ones in later stages won't show up.
In addition to the Death Smiles bullets they also have some Futari ones floating around in the 2nd loop.
Yes, I mention this in the review.

Hm, I definitely saw all the bosses each time. When I get my one up and running I’ll experiment and no doubt find you’re correct.

And yeah, I didn’t read that line correctly. :x

I'm pretty sure the only requirement is that you get all the bees on a single life. If you get the last bee and it's not a x2 then you messed up, and it's back to the normal midbosses on the next level. I don't think bombing makes a difference.

Ways to screw this up include dying after getting any of the bees and before getting all the bees, or simply missing a bee.

The 2Ch FAQ on the game says you can't die or bomb on a midboss.

Hmm, you should go test this. I'm pretty sure I've autobombed on the midbosses before and still fought the special midbosses on the next level.

I'm pretty certain that dying anywhere during your bee chain will give the normal midbosses from then on too. It doesn't matter if its during the midboss or not. You can die all you want on the stage boss though.

From my experience, the only thing that mattered was grabbing all the bees and getting that x2 on the final one.

I've definitely autobombed at a hidden midboss as Power style and lost the hidden midbosses in the stages after that, but I'll have to do some tests to confirm. You may be allowed to autobomb w/ Bomb style but not release any manual bombs (something else I should test). You are likely correct that any deaths in the stages, not just at the midbosses, will screw up the appearance of the hidden mids. Interesting that you can still die at the stage bosses though.

Oh, I don't know, 99% of people that post on Japanese gaming forums?

Better yet, what kind of dick refuses clear instructions and insists on being wrong? For more information on being wrong, please join the 2D Gaming Forum.

I just spent the better part of my first (and only) day off in months reading this DFK thread.

Fucking hilarious. The first few pages had me laughing pretty loudly. This last one here (34) had tears streaming down my face. Elixir should be writing stoner movies.

I haven't spent much time playing Cave games yet (a credit or two of the MAME stuff, a few more in DP & DDP), but I plan to spend every possible unreserved waking moment of next week playing DOJ and ESPgaluda, so it'll be interesting to hear all of this a-fuckin'-mazing music and get into this dark atmosphere I've been reading about. I'm getting to the party pretty damn late, but, luckily for me, I'm probably one of the youngest users on this forum, so I guess I have a few more years to get good at this stuff before I die than most of you guys =)

It'll be interesting to see how DOJ looks and plays (as if I haven't read/heard/watched enough to know already - ha!) as compared to what I've read of DFK here. As I said, I haven't been playing these games for years, so it really makes little difference to me whether they went and fucked up DFK as a DDP game ^_^ I doubt I'll ever get an opportunity to play DFK anyway, unless it gets a port. And even then...well, yeah.

Question: I thought the song from one of the youtube vids way back was cool as hell (though I'm not sure exactly what it's from, as it was sort of a stage montage kinda thing), so I'm curious to hear some opinions on whether DFK or DOJ has the better soundtrack, as I'd definitely consider buying up the DFK OST. (And audio CDs aren't region-locked, right? Dumb question?)

God I lovez shmupsforum.
