Raiden IV isn't even good.
Raiden III was an acquired taste, so I'm ready to give Raiden IV a chance.

And it's got Double Play, so I'm in.

I honestly haven't spent a whole lot of time with Blast Works yet, but I have enjoyed what I have played. It's an interesting concept, with lots of depth. I'm not a big fan of the visuals / music, but that's another story.

I haven't picked up Monkey King because I haven't heard a single good thing about it. Even people who are traditionally fans of 2D gaming and shmups say it's terrible.

I personally didn't like Raiden III at all. How does Raiden IV compare to Raiden III?

From what I've saw on Youtube they look exactly the same. Unless I'm looking at the wrong video.

IV improves on III in every way.
For me it's the second best Raiden after DX (not counting the Fighters of course).

im looking forward for Raiden4 too... if it ever gets a western release.
i'd love to have all those lovely capcom and cave shmups that are scheduled for release soon, but it kills me whenever i happen to know they are region locked.

i cant asure that, but i think most of those games, if we leave bonus content aside, could be released in the XBLA, since the cap is at 700MB now ... but oh well... we already know MS stance about arcade perfect ported shmups T_T

Raiden IV isn't even good.
Good or not it'll still probably be Stuart Campbell's game of the year.

I'm actually pretty happy about MS decision on XBLA arcade ports (Even though it's a bit retarded). I'd prefer an actual hard copy of the game rather than just a download. But I'd rather a download than not having a game at all.

I'd rather just play the game, period. I think the whole appeal behind Radiant Silvergun is because its so freaking hard to actually be able to play it. Now don't get me wrong, it looks brilliant from the hundreds of youtube videos that I've seen. But to actually play you need to get a hold of a Sega Saturn, then either pony up and pay 200 dollars for the game, or get a modchip and pray that it works. I did the latter and after 2 failed modchip installs I sold my Sega Saturn, biggest headache I've ever had.

i'd like to hear why are you happy about such retarded desicion.

now, im sure we all preffer a solid DVD on our shelves with our games than a download, but since most of the games we want are Japan only, and most (all) of them are region locked, our hope goes with XBLA... but even then, they just gives us the middle finger... we, shmuppers usually dont care about the language the game's in... we just wanna play the damned thing, you know?.

You make a good point and I agree. My comment was based on the assumption (or at least hoping) that eventually we'll get a North American/European release (not only Japanese games but games in general). If we do, we get it in the form of an actual hard copy. I hate paying for downloaded stuff, it's like paying for car insurance lol.

I'd love to get my hands on Ketsui and play my brains out but if it ever came in the only available option of download content then for sure I'd go for that.

When you get an actual hard copy of the game you feel like you actually bought something.

MAME can play RSG, though you need a somewhat faster machine than my 3 year old laptop, and there are occasional graphical glitches.

What you hear is the truth. I was a huge lover of the Cloud Master on the Sega Master System. A fine game and challenging too.

BUT

The Monkey King is average at best. My biggest complain?
It was easy. I was able to 1LC the weekend I buy it… :(

I am the mega super sux and I 1LC the game. The controlle tilt gimmick was just that, a tag on gimmick.

1+

I say its a horribly easy easy easy game. Once you power up, the game is over you can't die!
