Just saw them on youtube.

This would make some nice shmup music.
I really like their music. Just wondering what other people are thinking about them. Nice fresh new style of music for me. What is their best album? Any similar artists?
Now if only I had a banjo with a few missing strings and an ice scraper...
Anyone here like the Yoshida Brothers?

Some of the best shmups don't actually end in a vowel.
No, this game is not Space Invaders.

they were big at one time if i remember (around early 3 years ago)... probably cuz of the impact of a "new sound" which was never done before, you could say they were a fad
haha
i like that song for the Asahi beer commercial, Rising...
Nikata is the one that got a lot of airplay around here,
albums i'd reccomend would be Yoshida Brothers II, which has a lot of the moder/traditional variety, if you're leaning for the more classic sound (pure tsuugaru, minimal rock/fuck/jazz fusions), you'd have to track down their japanese releases, i favor one titled "Soulful"... or you can just get the best hits album as a sampler.
i can hook you up with them mp3s if you want
edit - just remembered, i used some of their songs as BGMs for Warning forever,
yeah, it does fit a bit

^you'd be outta luck i think, Rising is the most "rock" esque song they have if i recall... their other stuff are really heavy on the shamisen sound, WITH rock arrangements though, still won't be hearing backing guitars/bass/drums that much... as i've said, "Yoshida Brothers II" or "Best of Yoshida Brothers - Tsugaru Shamisen" are the most 'mainstream friendly' lol
