The trainwreck that used to be in this thread was moved here. For future note any and all scores will be accepted and added for as long as it's managable for me to deal with.

Updated! Let me know if I missed anyone

If you have 3,000 medals when you kill the last boss form, Faintear (the red chick) will appear. Of course, not dying means you get to keep more of your medals.

Is there something significantly different which warrants the XBLA version having its own board?

The major thing is that the score multiplier in the XBLA version is based on the medal counter and never decreases unless the player dies. This is similar to how the DC version's arrange mode works but without the inflated medal/bullet count.

There are other minor things that change gameplay and scoring as well, I'll document it in the strategy section after I've put more time in with the 360 version.

Oh right, I forgot there were separate tables for each character in the XBLA version. Guess I'll split that.

Man I hope the PS2 version doesn't include a giant clusterfuck of score tables because of adding the extra characters.

XBLA version:

Dasuperfunk- 24,447,038 - Crueltear - Hard - OFF

I could have sworn I had something in the 48mils... but can't verify due to highscores resetting on the XBLA version if you play whilst not connected to LIVE. Also, that score (48mil) might have been for NORMAL difficulty...

If XBLA hard mode still has the randomness of the DC hard mode (and I guess the arcade hard mode except I've only ever played that on default settings as far as I know) then I'm not really interested in making another table for it. Unless a few people really want to compare hard mode scores outside of the XBLA leaderboard or something I don't know.

Got my vga cable back, and my xbla practice paid off even though there is a abit of a different feel to it. DC version is better imo.

Kiken - All - 172,585,588 - Crueltear - ON

DC Story mode
Kiken - ALL - 131,717,763 - Crueltear - ON

So, is it not possible to trigger the Good Ending in Arcade Mode? Because I'll activate and destroy all the bosses and yet, I still get the Normal Ending.

Right. Different endings only for Story Mode. Nice to see you playing this again, by the way :D

Seems kinda odd that they would restrict Arcade Mode in that sense. This also implies that the XBLA version is actually a mixture of all 3 DC game modes.

This game has grown on me a lot lately and I honestly have to admit that trying to get all of the Achievements in the XBLA version has been fueling that (IMHO, a perfect example of Achievements used correctly).

One other thing I noticed, Crueltear's Normal ending appears to have been, for lack of a better term, censored in the XBLA version. In the DC rev, as she's falling backward (the hand-drawn cinematic) her entie body is displayed and you can clearly see her crotch (yeah, she has on a swimsuit deal, but there's barely any coverage). In the XBLA rev, the image starts out more zoomed in on her face and never pans out enough to show her entire body.

Seems kinda odd that they would leave the arcade game feeling so unfinished with only a single depressing ending each for Exelica and Crueltear.

Still only 11/12 achievements. I don't think I'll ever bother to go for the Hard Mode clear, the random bullet speeds annoy me too much. I need to get my X360 online so I can start posting scores.

Also yeah, I noticed that about the endings. I can't remember if I wrote anything in the Exelica XBLA thread about it or not.

The depressing ending deal seems to be in vogue.... or something. Just glad they fixed that in the homeports.

I ended up just maxing out my starting stats in order to get the Hard Mode 1CC Achievement (I'm just not big on this mode). Although, I'm still missing the Perfect Play one... almost had it last night but got tagged once during the final battle.

I went and tracked down that thread. Yeah, you did mention it. One thing that I didn't see mentioned though was the difference with the stage 2 and 4 bosses. In the DC version, they are both active targets as soon as they come on-screen (you can anchor them and begin doing damage). In the XBLA version, those bosses can't be attacked until they've entered the screen and done an opening animation. Also, there are differences in slowdown (the XBLA version has almost none).

Minor score update:

XBLA Version:
Kiken - ALL - 191,330,370 - Crueltear - ON
Replay linked, in case anyone is interested in watching.

A minor update, but it was a No Miss (finally unlocked the Perfect Play achievement).

Now just think, nZero, you'll get to open up a whole new listing once the PS2 port hits (cause God knows how broken Faintear might be). ;)
