Atlus re-releases Persona 2 for ps1 - ultra limited!
Anyone snag one? I got the email from Atlus and bought one five minutes after. I checked to see if they had any left after lunch and they were all gone. Makes me love Atlus even more that they'd do a PS1 reprint.

Re: Atlus re-releases Persona 2 for ps1 - ultra limited!
I doubt it's actually a reprint if they sold out that fast. Usually when there's a "super limited" re-release, it means they found some old stock that they didn't know about.drboom wrote:Makes me love Atlus even more that they'd do a PS1 reprint.

Rumor has it that they released 500 copies, which sounds like an awful lot to find on the back shelf, but I admit its totally possible.Ex-Cyber wrote:I doubt it's actually a reprint if they sold out that fast. Well they did reprint Persona 2 a while back (price then went down to 30$ or so), and Rhapsody, too. It comes as little surprise to me they would find/print more Persona 2. I got the e-mail, too (like today), advertising the very limited reprint.
Don't know if I'll get one. Wait, is it already sold out?
Edit: Jesus, they sold out fast! I'm curious as to how many people bought it really to play?

It's at least remotely possible that a run of 500 was done; there are CD production companies that will do orders that small (any smaller and you're generally looking at "duplication", which is an industry euphemism for burned CDs). Whether that fits in at all with Sony's licensing process is another issue entirely.drboom wrote:Rumor has it that they released 500 copies, which sounds like an awful lot to find on the back shelf, but I admit its totally possible.
Persona 2: Eternal Punishment?
I got this quite some time ago as it has been redistributed once before. Amazing that there is still demand for this but its a cool game none the less. I can't think that this game is rare.
Now for the first Persona game on PS1, Revelations: Persona, I want in on that. I can't for the life of me find that game anywhere for years now and ebay prices are only getting worse.

I'm assuming P2 and P1 have gone up up up since Persona 3 was a hit.
I got my P2 for $30 back in the day.
Is re-printing last-gen games the in thing nowadays? I can name four games it's happened to lately. Maybe it's just because I've started getting into games that coincidentally have low print runs and high demand.

There was a fan translation patch of Innocent Sin released last month. It's a pretty cool.
i'll trade this brand new "reprint" or "old stock" whatever it was, from amazon, for a complete persona 1 ps1 in satisfactory condition with the manual + case.
if a straight up trade isn't plausible, tho looking at ebay prices sealed new version of this game are up there on the ridiculous price scale, some $$ on top could be negotiated.
if this isn't of interest to anyone, it's either BulletMagnet's or Turrican's.

I didn't want to cause any confusion. I was already confused as to which game was redistributed until I checked the link. I am actually in search of Persona: Revelations (the same game Bay is looking to trade for). Had this reprint/reissue been of that game, I would've been a bit more bummed out. I guess I couldn't care less about missing out on a game I already have.Ed Oscuro wrote:Sounds like a proper name for any collector trying to play the "get-a-reprint" gameOmniGLH wrote:Persona 2: Eternal Punishment?![]()
Not at all surprised I wouldn't see anything about this until too late.
My co-worker happened to step out of the office at the right moment for me to check my e-mail, order two copies on Amazon, and then close the browser before he returned from the bathroom.
I suspect a lot of the orders went to resellers, but I'm seeing a few people on each forum I visit that managed 1-2 copies for themselves. I'm glad not all of them went to hoarders, but a one or two game limit should be enforced on limited releases like that.

Persona 2: Eternal Punishment was a huge disappointment to me when I bought it years ago. The setting, story and characters are all excellent, but the battle system is so tedious that I never finished it and sold it a few years back. I know there a re a lot of JRPG haters on these forums, but I'm not one of them. I enjoy traditional JRPGs, but every time I feel pangs of regret for selling P2 I just remember how much the combat menus and battle system infuriated me and the regret vanishes.
Besides, Persona 3 is awesome

Considering P3 has a battle system that forces you to only watch your allies fighting for you 90% of the time, I fail to see any logic in these two statements. But that's okay, I guess.Daigohji wrote:Persona 2: Eternal Punishment was a huge disappointment (...) the battle system is so tedious

Good thing someone bumped this thread, I missed out on this. Butthurt P3 fanboys who can't stand any kind of criticism about it make me lol.Elixir wrote:Apparently you don't know how to play P3.ForceDevice wrote:Considering P3 has a battle system that forces you to only watch your allies fighting for you 90% of the time, I fail to see any logic in these two statements.
