Yesterday, I found I didn't do well in Ketsui until I got into a kind of groove. You just kind of have to stick with it and possibly take it easy, slightly.

hmmm..ya but i play it a lot....i know how to score.....i know where to score....i know what patterns are coming up...and i just fuck up......

its very frustrating

and i cant take it easy.....once i understand scoring mechanics in a game i find it almost impossible to play it for survival...even if i try i will almost always subconsciously start going for score again once i get to a scoring point

also i just realized what your avy is.....is it a girls ass with a thong on?

and just to be clear, its the 29th for the next meet, not next saturday...although if anybody wants to come over during the week or even next weekend give me a call or shoot me a pm for my number....if im not at work im at home cursing up a storm playing ketsui

also....i blame cave for my rededing hairline

That's exactly right. lol
I'm glad someone got it without me explaining it. But I guess the challenge makes it all the more interesting.

Yeah, Ketsui is very unforgiving when it comes to scoring. In other Cave games, the scoring isn't nearly as risky. I actually find it somewhat stressful .. playing for survival isn't nearly as bad.

i cant play for survival.....or bomb.....

and modding that stick is way more involved than i thought.....its going to cost and take a lot of work....lots of dremeling and soldering

might be worth it to track down an hrapex for your 360

but if you arent in a rush and dont mind paying for everything i can throw it together....still looking into throwing an ls32 in there.....seems tricky and you are gonna have bolts visible on the front

and put some thought into artwork cuz you are going to have to replace the front art....just get me the art and i will make it happen

I figured it would be pretty crazy. Those ones aren't really meant for modding. Might as well just see if I can find a HRAP EX .. it's pretty rare allready.

Hope you guys had fun.
Saturday didn't end up being a "date" since the girl I was seeing was too busy working on her sketches for a local anime convention.

I just ended up going there instead just to stal-- er....visit her. XD

well if you are in no hurry and dont mind paying for the parts i would like to mod it....its a nice case...with good parts in it it would be sick

but ya....the buttosn are direct pcb mounts...very odd design if you ask me....just have to desolder and we are good to connect to normal buttons, but i need to dremel the case to fit the japanese buttons.....

and i will have to use mounting bolts through the faceplate for the joystick...but i can use really lowprofile ones that will be hardly noticable....

just think of art you want to put on it.....like 10 bux to print it on sticky vinyl at kinkos

presto....sick-stick!!! :D

Buttons are one thing, but I don't know if you'd want to swap the stick in that EX2. The thing is that the factory shaft height is lower. The proportions of the entire controller might not be good for a JLF or LS-32, although I know a good number of people mod the controller anyway.

i would simply make a riser plate to raise up the joystick so length isnt an issue

only issue would be finding really low profile bolts so they arent eyesores on the front of the faceplate

How long do you think all this work would take/cost? And I will see if I can find some high-res art.

Buying a Japanese x360 and 2 games from play-asia is gonna set me back about $500 .. woohoo! I would prob. drag it over to shmup meets. Assuming I can carry it .. :P

get your 360 through gaijinpunch...it will be cheaper me thinks....as for the stick mod i have no idea....

if you can live with the stick and just change the balltop for aestethics i can do it fairly quickly once i have the buttons....

just order what you want from lizardlick......you will want 30mm sanwa/seimitsu buttons and whatever stick you want....let me know if you need any help choosing

I think GaijinPunch raised the price up to $240 + 110 EMS shipping. I don't know how much airmail is.

I'm putting use to the supergun again. I took futari back because the cab that futari was in....... well, screen totally died so the cabinet's out of commission for the time being. Kai (the manager) was pretty sad about it too since he really liked Futari.

Futari's with me, so is the supergun, and just pretend the HRAP is collatteral. lol

ok no worries then....hold onto it....as long as its getting used im happy.....

:D

and next time you are there let them know i would be willing to have a look at the cab....and if it is truly unfixable i can get them a great deal on a new monitor and i can wire it up for them....

gotta help keep the scene alive after all.....if thats there 'vert' cab we need to get it back up and running asap

I think I can live with the stick .. as for the buttons, would you be ordering them and installing them, or should I order them and bring them over there? I'll pay you back if you order them from your place, of course.

I'd probabally go for the "Sanwa OBSF-30 Pushbutton" in green .. and "Sanwa LB-35 Joystick Ball Top" in green for the balltop.

Oh yeah, for the next meet (Might possibly go), I'd like to bring in a friend's HRAP1 ver.A. Apparently there's something wrong w/ the stick itself and I was wondering if there's any way you could fix it.

Well, I'll put it in "fighting game" terms.
HCB/HCFs don't function for him no matter how hard he tried.

Well, you're the man for pretty much everything hardware related, so I'll ask here.

I visited a relative's house and I happened to have found a ATI Rage 128 Pro, which apparently has S-video out, composite out and in.

Would this be among the cards that can do soft15khz?

it is indeed

why? this will only work with 15khz able screens

and soft15khz has nothing to do with s-video or composite by the way

I know, I'd just wanted to see if this card is worth keeping in the future. I was planning to throw it out, but I just wanted to know if this thing had any use.
