Thunder Force V

Post by Pixel_Outlaw »

Am I the only one to feel that this game is full of cheap deaths? Man the bosses spew out bullets fast and without warning plus those odd lasers that fire with no real warning.

Recent thoughts on Thunder Force V.
Some of the best shmups don't actually end in a vowel.
No, this game is not Space Invaders.

You learn to know whats coming. Guardians Knight and Vasteel Original both have attacks that seem to require luck to dodge rather than skill but you learn to take them out before they get chance to do them.

I find the final boss' sword attacks hard to deal with - but he's usually dead before he does them.

I'm a newcomer to the game too, got the 1CC within a few days and the No Miss on my next go.
The biggest unanswered question is where is the money? [1CCS]

You can't let Iron Maiden kick that dirt at you - you have to get her quickly w/ Free Range - but, you probably already knew that.

Yeah, and slow down a little for Guardian's Knight.

I agree that the last boss especially is a bastard w/ those sword swinging moves - so, you have to try to get him quickly as Sly said...

That last giant laser he shoots gets me often even though I know its coming. Cheap but its a thrill watching him fire that thing before dying.

If you just play it, yes it does. but if you have play it numerously, i bet you even 1cc the game on hard mode with no miss. I only could do no miss on difficulty master just until fighting Stage 6`s boss. But you know, eventhough you already know by heart all about this game, its still a good and fun game.

for me, that`s the best final attack that i ever know. thats why guardian`s Knight become my favorite boss by it`s attack, attack movement, and it`s design.

The same FINAL ATTACK is used by the B3 Enemy from Thunderforce VI. I also died a few times even if i know he´s firing a final blast. :-)

looks like both of them unwilingly on letting us escape easily aren`t they :D
But if the creator want to make their death more devastating, they could programing the enemy`s debris so it could kill us, but still destructible
