only $20 ? You always have to pay for the tower which always costs around $20 at the very least, alimentation, monitor, keyboard, mouse, sound... I don't see how you could buy a full computer for less than 250$. And a full tower for less than 100$ (not new).BryanM wrote:One of those ~$4 thumbdrives. Since the thing loads into ram, shouldn't be an issue most the time..
Surely there's a place selling pentium 3's for like $20. Businesses pay to dispose of these old (adequate) systems..
I would say check local community colleges and universities for upcoming auctions. Also, check the paper for sales at public facilities; libraries, city hall, etc. These places tend to sell computers at huge discount prices whenever they purchase new ones (and <$50 for a P3 plus all the necessary stuff has been something I've seen several times).PROMETHEUS wrote:only $20 ? There was also a huge annual garage sale run by this hospice service near me... Again, very cheap. Maybe there's something like that around.
Forgot to mention that at the end of that hospice sale, there was a huge bin full of monitors that had a sign saying "take one"!

Pentium 3's are literally land fill fodder. (The only places you'd find selling them are pawn shops trying to rip people off massively.) Worst comes to worst, it's $15 for a 17" CRT monitor.PROMETHEUS wrote:only $20 ? There's no reason any person should have to go without the likes of Diablo 2, Starcraft, The Sims, those Donpachys, Megaman 2... That's just inhumane..
You don't even need that much. There are people who play quite proficiently with a keyboard *coughPMTcough*All you need is a USB pad and you are good to go
What's everyone's fascination with Armed Police Batrider anyways? I've been playing it, see if I could get it to grow on me, but I just find myself enjoying Battle Garegga a lot more.

Breakneck pace, loads of content, loads of secrets, snappy gameplay, appealing flashy graphics, fun scoring...Arvandor wrote:You don't even need that much. There are people who play quite proficiently with a keyboard *coughPMTcough*All you need is a USB pad and you are good to go

Just stick with it. It took me a while but suddenly I got this huge rush of "oh my god this game is great"

APB is pretty cool, but it's not a favorite of mine. Garegga is definitely better.Arvandor wrote:You don't even need that much. There are people who play quite proficiently with a keyboard *coughPMTcough*All you need is a USB pad and you are good to go

no shun personally. Point is, if download is the only viable way to get a shmup I want, thn that is it. Altough if the said shmup becomes again avalable on play asia or I find it anywhere else for a reasonable price I totally buy it.lilmanjs wrote:now I don't own anything but a Dreamcast to play good shmups on(I do own a PS1 but it doesn't really work well). do you guys shun on downloading games here?
I love to have original stuff, but sometimes its just not possible!
