It means you haven't satisfied the conditions to open them yet, so the game's telling you what to do in order to achieve them. I'm guessing those are the 3 lowest numbers that you haven't opened yet?BiQ wrote:I have a problem... in EVAC reports, panels 42, 47 & 48 have been "half-opened" in reddish hue and their text (in which I have no idea whatsoever is written) is grayed. Does this mean I have "failed" to open them properly or what? My machine-engrish->finnish -parser is unable to figure this out from that google-translated wiki in page 3 of this thread...

Congrats!
Yeah, Extra it´s over extremely quickly for me too. One or two more lives would have been much better. Either that or a "Restart" option. Even with the minimal loading times on the DS, I see the Game Over screen when playing Extra WAY too often, and constantly aborting and restarting because I fuck up withing the first twenty seconds is very annoying.

Seriously, this is a feature most oft-overlooked in console shmups. If I'm already given an ability to restart via pause menu instantly, where does the driving force to subject me to unskippable gameover screens and so on come from? Many doujins don't have that problem.Frederik wrote:Either that or a "Restart" option. Savestates are even better. I love being able to make my own level select and instantly restart when I screw up. No wonder people like Prometheus swear by it. Shame it doesn´t work on Raizing games, though, and that it stopped working on later MAME versions for DDP. That´s also one of the reasons why I´m not really interested in PCBs - having to start a game all over just to practice the last boss on the second loop (not that I actually could do that, but whatever) doesn´t seem compelling to me.
I´m going pretty offtopic here, but I wonder if there would be any way to manipulate a PCB in such a way that you could force a level select into it

Personally, I use regular shot if (and only if) I have to make a quick rush to avoid some larger wave of bullets. That's why I use Type B since it seems quicker with regular shot than A.Ataru wrote:so, humor the guy stuck on Very Hard even with 15 lives...
When is it advantageous to use the regular shot?
I've been using Type A almost exclusively, what's the pro's / con's of the two ship types? Something subtle I haven't noticed?
But then again, I'm the guy still stuck on Very hard even when I have all 20 ships so there's probably something wrong with my approach.

Mine came in this morning (I think - I haven't opened the parcel yet but it looks like yesasia's style and the size is about right for what is in the order).msm wrote:anyone had this arrive from yesasia?
I had it shipped via the free service, but shipment was also delayed due to one item in my order being out of stock. Are you still waiting?

Slow is better than getting hit with 30% or more import duties for all my orders from play-asia, guaranteed. Last time I had to pay over $9 in duties on a package declared at $20 value. You could say it's not play-asia's fault, but they absolutely refuse to mark packages as "gift". When orders get into triple-digit values, it's nothing to laugh about.Elixir wrote:Shit, people still order stuff from YesAsia? Haha. Much respect to the people with that kind of patience.
Never had any problem with yesasia at all. Speaking of which I'm going to start heading home now to play my game and music CDs from yesasia.
thanks for the reply. yeah i'm still waiting. i've never had a problem with them before either, and i don't mind waiting ~2 weeks to avoid vat/tax but raiden 4 still hasn't arrived, although apparently they have re-shipped that now, and i'm getting a little worried, but if other people have had theirs i'm sure it'll turn up eventuallyiatneH wrote:I had it shipped via the free service, but shipment was also delayed due to one item in my order being out of stock. I find it a bit too hard to enjoy it, to be honest. Enemies like the big helicopters fire very nasty, tight patterns right in your face, and sometimes there are so many enemies onscreen at once that I just completely lose orientation and die.moonblood wrote:After 3 days with the game I've now unlocked extra. God damn its hard
Adding to that, I already know I will never be able to clear it, ever, judging from how insane Doom at the end of the course is supposed to be. I think the small screen works very fine in the rest of the game, but here it´s just too much for my taste - bullet hoarding is very hard to do and the missing vertical screen space causes enemies to appear very suddenly with very little time to react. But meh, maybe I´ll like it more when I get better at it, at the moment I can barely pass the section after the first two doppelgänger ships
