STUNNING ELECTION CALL REVERSAL: McCain takes the election!

Post by Ed Oscuro »

In an unprecedented landslide at odds with pundit and pollster predictions, Senator McCain has won a majority of votes even in traditionally liberal areas that haven't voted for a Republican since 1968.

Issues credited with leading McCain to victory are hard to pinpoint. "Out of all the issues we raised, clearly many of them were resonating with people and stuck to the wall," Rick Davis, national campaign manager for Senator McCain, argues. Another possible factor is unprecedented international appeal and fundraising for Senator McCain by parties he has worked with towards arms reduction and improved international relations.

Senator McCain promises his Friends that he'll be covering their celebratory rounds of drink come next spring with a tax cut.

Democrats blamed poor polls with close margins of error in which Senator McCain got the highest percentage of votes possible while Senator Obama received the least.

The Republican victory is so complete that the Republicans are picking up Senate seats that aren't even in play this election, leading them to a filibuster-proof majority.

I feel betrayed. All the evidence is right there. Also here.

p.s. Are they voting for Sen. McCain in Paranoia? I think that's in California.

Edit: is = in

I feel like a partisan scumbag not mentioning this even though it's easily spun.

Seriously, though, does anybody think 100 calls (or so) trying to get your ex-brother-in-law fired is appropriate behavior for a Governor? If you were looking for a November surprise, this one's hardly it.

No, it's OK, because I'm going to vote extra hard for Obama tomorrow, and that will cancel out a bunch of McCain votes.

I'm going to write myself in for President, if I decide to vote. North Dakota has only 3 electoral votes and no one really visits here or knows about us... :(

Ed you should be a colorful tall-tail character like Paul Bunion. Only instead of having a giant blue ox you have a giant brown crap paddle.

North Dakota is that place above the burning hellhole that houses Mt Rushmore and Sturgis, right?

Edit: I LOVE the Sturgis rally, btw. It's just the climate of the region that doesn't agree with me. Thought I'd clarify.

No, North Dakota is actually two states to the west and slightly north of South Dakota's location.

On a more serious note, ND farmers aren't happy about Bush and from what I understand not seriously happy about McCain either. Not that I think ND will go to Obama, but it's not the slam dunk red state it was last time.

Better back that up with some proof. I voted Bob Barr so my conscience is clean.

I wonder if Fox News is still holding off on calling Obama the winner just in case some the remaining uncalled states somehow get a huge boost in Electoral Votes, and all of them go to McCain

To paraphrase McCain, "It's going to be a quiet night at Fox News now that Obama won" ;)
