No. Check Herr Schatten's post in this thread.
Or is the the "Sonic Wings Collection" a completly different collection Disc on the PS-1 & Saturn?
There's no such thing.
No matter how good a game is, somebody will always hate it. No matter how bad a game is, somebody will always love it.

Also check out that 3 player car vertical shoot em up game from video system. Never can remember the name though.
What flaws does SWS have then? I don't see nothing wrong with it.
Yes, I know Aerofighters Assault isn't a shmup, i was just listing Sonic Wings games, amigo. Could you tell me more about this 3 player Video Systems game?
As for SWS, the PAL version has been ported by some power crazy fools (Phoenix) and has had its cutscenes / endings / witty between-level banter removed entirely. In my opinion, one of the defining features of the 'Wings series that makes it so special is the wacky interaction between the characters, and the often contradictory endings. With playstation Sonic Wings it is an unfortunate toss up between a language I don't understand and a lousy english version with no save feature, no dialogue and worse yet - no class! Sonic Wings Special is a fantastic game, but Phoenix let us all down. The NTSC version is superior due to the save game ability.
I just looked up the 3 player shmup Turbo Force. Believe it or not I have played that game too. I was led to it upon learning the car was unlockable in Sonic Wings 2 (I think it was)
It was pretty cool, but Sonic Wings would win in a 'shmup-off'
I saw Sonic Wings Assault at Play-Asia and wondered why I had never heard of it. Finding this thread, I realize it's not a shmup; that's why no one talks about it. I assume it sucks, but has anyone played it?
I played a lot of Aero Fighters Assault back when it came out. Think Namco's Ace Combat series with some shmupie elements, like bombs, score, and enormous mechanical bosses. It's pretty fun, if you like that sort of thing.
