Finally bought Space Invaders Extreme

Normally I hate anything Space Invaders related but this game is proving to be very fun. I opted for the PSP version though I have both PSP and DS. Maybe I've grown out of my Space Invaders hating. I dunno.

I just bought it too, last weekend. Still have not opened it yet though. I have too many other games in front of it waiting to get played. However, i love Space Invaders in general.

I've never liked the pacing of the original. That is not to say that I don't play older games I've just never liked the original games.

I've described them as "shooting a muzzle loading musket through a picket fence at a bunch of fleas".

I own the PSP version as well and should pick up the DS version too, this will cover me on both handhelds.

I never liked most of the older SI titles either, but SIE I liked pretty much right off the bat, especially for 20 bucks new. Your fire rate is finally decent, the stupid barriers are finally gone, and the scoring system and overall progression strike a nice balance between rewarding both speed and accuracy - also, while it's not hard to 1CC on the easiest path, you can get plenty of challenge taking the harder paths. Easily my favorite Space Invaders game, by miles.

But I love the shit out of this game. Problem is, I haven't played it in months. lulz.
