It's not really a high score, so I didn't think it belonged in the scoring board, and its not a strategy request, so I didn't think it belonged there either, I just wanna know if this is a decent score for the end of level 1 as Yusuke.
EDIT: Okay, since it won't let me display an image, or I'm doing something wrong, my score was 1,572,870

For reference, I don't really play ESP Rade or understand the scoring system at all (and so I'm just blasting through the level) and I get above 1 million points in the first level. So I'd guess, no that's not decent, but of course I could be wrong.

your score is good for a non milking score with most things caught with 16 X multiplyer however if you watch the super play video on youtube or superplay website you will see a much higher level 1 score , basically involves milking the boss for ages , personally it sends me to sleep watching it .
Ugh, I try to. I always get 16x multiplier on him when he does his attack where he sits still and fires off the patterns of light blue bullets, I can't figure out a way to milk him more than that.
Another thing is it seems pretty random if I reach full power before the sub-boss. Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't. I think that's my main problem.
This has inspired me to watch an ESP Rade superplay for the first time (for some reason I haven't done this before) and this is seriously by far and away the most bored I have ever been watching a bullet hell superplay. Weird.

hahah yeah its pretty savage in the boredom department .@ tommy your best bet is to watch the super play on youtube , you milk by using the b shot only and just clipping him + repeat till distant future.

Haha I found the video, already bested my score by about 650,000 =P

And the thing is, I would probably have a blast actually playing like that if I could, but watching someone... blah

see your name in the hi score thread soon then heh , keep it up.
Ugh I think I've been playing it to much. Now the best I can get is 1,500,000 by the end of the first level, and I can't no miss it. I need to take a break =P Been playing it since i woke up today.
I don't know, but for me the point of a boss in a danmaku shmup is to have the most insane, hard to survive fight possible. Having to milk a boss for minutes for a highscore is not really my idea of a fun time. Having said that, I hugely enjoy ESP rade as well, of course, I just don't milk the damn bosses.
I always used to whittle down the boss' life with B, then wait until he pops out his satellites and try get him with a multiplier. Tagging a 16x on his last form with all the satellites out is damn satisfying.

I'm not good enough to milk any of the bosses except the shopping mall tank (as stage 2). It gets too risky for me to smack into a bullet, so it does become rather hard to survive when I'm trying to milk.

Well to be honest, I pretty much suck at this game as well (in the same way I suck at all the other Cave games, I'm not referring to you).... maybe that's why milking isn't much fun...? Or maybe milking's just a damn stupid idea, I don't know.
Worrying about milking bosses via the b-shot trick is mostly pointless for just about anyone but top tier players. The gain does not justify the risk until you're trying to squeeze the last few million points out of the game (and that's a high estimate)
Your first priority is consistent timing of 16x kills, on both 'large' stage enemies and bosses.
Your second priority is timing boss 16x kills so the maximum amount of bullets convert to items.
After that you want to work on triggering the 'fast fall' item condition during stages, but that will kinda come naturally as you get better at 16x kills.
On some bosses have destructible parts that give you 16x items too; example of this is Irori's first stage boss (the helicopter thing.) Both side guns, the bigger platforms behind them, and the cockpit section will give you 16x. This is actually what the superplay player is doing during the first form of the boss with the b-shot. He's damaging only certain parts of the boss.
Another thing to consider is that when you kill something that gives you items, bullets that happen to get caught in the explosion are converted to items also.
Also if you really are interested in pushing your score in this game, get used to using the 2P side. You can get way more points out of the last stage that way.

Out of curiosity, what is this condition? Is it just chaining a 16x for a few kills?
Also, using the splattershot during a chain won't override your 16x with a smaller multiplier, will it?

I believe that zakk's referring to two things:
- 16x blocks descend at a speedy rate.
- When at maximum item counter (initially 200) and bomb energy, all blocks are generated at the current multiplier level (ideally 16x).
This mostly affects enemies that drop items but lack the durability to survive 16x bubbles (e.g., yellow multi-segmented ships on the high school stage). Normally, when broken under a 16x multiplier, they drop 1x-8x blocks based on how they were bubbled. Under the "fast fall" condition, they drop speedy 16x blocks.
