Dang. I've only recently broken 100 mil in Novice.
I figure the last boss is where all the points are since there's so many parts to pick off.

Actually, you don't want to pick off all his parts. Destroying all his parts with your lock shot is murder for your multiplier.

A shooter friend of mine here in Osaka emailed me saying "I've been working on Extra for days to no avail. Online there's some guy who beat it and gave me this advice: 'pray to god'."

And that's about when I stopped trying to beat that mode. lol

Oh and Doom mode? I too await our saviour who beats it.

Hah, yeah no doubt. The randomness of the stage is bound to screw you out of a couple bombs, and then you reach the most pissed off Doom in the game with (hopefully) 1 life in stock and probably no bombs. Good luck with that!

BiQ - Hard A - 52,177,100 - Type-A - ALL
BiQ - Hard B - 19,236,995 - Type-A - ALL
BiQ - Hard C - 110,200,050 - Type-A - ALL
BiQ - Very Hard - 299,358,030 - Type-A - Stage 10

Not gonna post my Death Label or Doom scores since they suck even more than these... :P And reaching Extra mode ever seems pipe dream right now. :(

EDIT: P_HAT: I use this configuration: R for Lock shot, X for Shot, L for bombing (= "panic button"). This way, I can hold X pressed constantly and use R whenever (most of the time) when I want to use lock shot...)

EDIT2: Except I suppose it does not exactly work as well with type b... oops.

No missing Cinderella Amber is pretty awesome (without cheating and skipping the first section). Doom was a complete mess, I actually timed him out.

Jesus MMM. LOL

Btw, Mihara is claiming that he got past Doom mode.

Considering that he programmed it well...one would hope. But he's still stuck on Extra mode.

Don't forget that MrMM knows the original Ketsui by heart, so he has only needed to adapt the strategies, rather than learn them anew.

Updated. I finally got Death Label unlocked. I replayed Hard B since I knew I could bump that up a bit.

I'm not sure if you want to finish all the smaller ships in Vinogradov's stage with the lock shot. This stage is tough for your multiplier. I'm guessing you'd use some lock shot to get as many boxes out as you can (being careful not to hit popcorn planes with LS, since they take a chunk off your multiplier if killed with it), then use a burst of regular fire for the kill.

Death Label mode makes the arcade Ketsui first loop bosses look like cakewalks.
Kinect? KIN NOT.

Updated scores, also lined everything up and made a backup in notepad.

As more scores come in, I would consider changing the amount of slots to 15 or 20 if you guys would like. 15 might actually be the upper limit, I'm not sure at what point the board will say the post is too large. If no one cares I'll probably just stick with the 10.

I'll post these scores, for now.

Hard C
malik11 - 332 333 025 - A - ALL
(Auto Bomb on, 2 misses, starting with 16 stock, I think)

Very Hard

(Auto Bomb off, 7 misses, starting with 20 stock)

Damn, Trafalgar is a bitch in this game.

Actually, make that:

You are guessing correctly. But it's not like the patterns are changed completely, is it? Do you dodge each of them differently from the PCB version?

for all the similarity between the two versions, you may as well have been playing the PCB with your feet.

RWM - Novice - 36,895,435 - A - All
RWM - Normal - 99,323,890 - A - All
RWM - Hard A - 59,477,680 - A - All
RWM - Hard B - 35,302,055 - A - All
RWM - Hard C - 216,769,540 - A - All
RWM - Very Hard - 378,904,675 - A - Stage 10
RWM - Doom - 71,495190 - A - Stage 2

I started messing with Type-B because after all my A-L DDP play, I feel much more at home with a quicker ship. May I ask why exactly everyone uses the A-Type chopper?

ya...i kind of found it funny when people were saying its just like playing the PCB.....or at least training for it

for the record...its absolutely nothing like playing PCB :!:

even if some of the patterns are 'similar'.... you are playing it on a cropped 4:3 screen yoko, controlling with a crappy dpad...not to mention the slowdown(if any) will be completely different

how exactly does this prepare you to play a game with a stick(unless you are the minority that uses controllers) on a vertical screen, with essentially different patterns....even if they are similar the aspect and spacing/timing will be different......
