I found out that most native Japanese couldn't speak English at all. And for those that did, it was broken English at best. At the Kyoto youth hostel that I stayed at with my cousin, we chatted with a Japanese trio of guys. One of the guys said that he took three years of English in high school...this is better than my two years of taking Spanish in high school (which really can't compare). To get their point across, they relied on a handy Japanese to English translation book. It was an interesting chat between two cultures that day in Kyoto. ^_~

My cousin says that the Spanish spoken in Spain is different from the Spanish taught in the American schools, particularly in high school and at the college level as well.

Most American High School Spanish is gonna be Mexican or Latin American, I think. I believe there's some differences in pronunciation and maybe certain verb forms...

I took Spanish for four years and until very recently I would have random bits of vocab popping into my mind during a mental word search

I found people ok, they spoke ok English but I had a dictornary and a book that translated eng to JPN and visa versa.

I dont know what else you want to know, I bought quite a lot of things, games and cultral stuff

I guess I could post photos, I went to TGS 2008 and played some JPN player on pro evo 2008.

He thought he was good and selected Man U and I played him on a big 100 inch screen. I selected Barcelona and banged him 4-0, glad I recorded that event
