Why do you say the opposite of what you actually mean? Is this some kind of sneaky reverse psychology bullshit? Alas, I shall not fall for your trickery, lowly scum!
Have you seriously never encountered sarcasm before?
Haha let's just say that I'm passing a loaded blunt in your direction as a peace offer. Let's chill bro.
Still, how anyone can really, actually care about box art is beyond me. If it fits it's a nice bonus, but no more. As long as the game rocks.

wicked :D you had a change of heart then?
I found a place that was 2 credits for 100 yen :D

No one else plays the poor sod so I thought I'd give it some love. Daring to wade through bullet storms to get close enough to pick up the 5 chips then sweeping around the screen with your lock shot blowing shit up and vacuuming up even more 5 chips is so SATISFYING! Light years ahead of the Pachis in the fun stakes IMO.

PC Engine Fan X! wrote:If you watched the 3rd X-Play episode of the TGS'08 coverage with airdate of 10/15/2008, they featured a 15 second airtime spot of the 360 port of DDP-DOJ Black Label Extra. The host, Morgan Webb, referred to it as "Black Label Extra" rather than the full and complete proper name. It seems that she is a fan of those "old-school" shmups such as DDP-DOJ. Glad to see that the 360 DDP-DOJ BLX port got a tiny bit of airtime on the U.S. airwaves as a small tribute to shmups. It's better than no shmup coverage at all.

...

You might recall Ms. Webb when she was an intern on the TechTV channel back in 2001. Still had that same hourglass figure and busty rack as usual (back in the day when TechTV was based out of San Francisco and how G4 is based out of Los Angeles nowdays). G4 should've kept it's IPs of TechTV and G4 channels seperate, but decided to merger them into one channel and drop some killer TechTV shows like "The Screensavers, Fresh Gear, etc." in the process. Those were some awesome TechTV shows worthy of watching. Grrr. Don't try to fix/tamper with such a winning combination of programming and alienate your TV viewers. And G4 has done exactly just that.

PC Engine Fan X! ^_~
I haven't been watching X-Play for the past couple years or so, but I was actually considering watching the whole shootin' match (lol pun) in hopes of seeing something like that. Too bad I didn't.

And yeah, I miss the good ol' days of TTV/G4TTV. Was awesome. Too bad TV pretty much sucks anyway. I might still watch it with some regularity if G4/Mythbusters/etc. had stayed good. Or if I'd never gotten into counterstrike. Ohwai...

ah OK, that makes sense. No, none of the Pachis really do it for me. I think its partially due to the hit counter turning blue when you drop a chain. They may as well have added in a "ha ha!"

In my experience, shooters just aren't that popular. Often arcades will be filled with faceless beat em ups (not a fan) and those huge Gundam machines (too scared to try) and maybe 2 or 3 shooters. A big one near me got Mushi 2 BL when it came out, and it was unloved and on 2 credits for 100 yen within a month. I'm worried they'll just be gone one day so I try to play them a lot. I've been playing Ketsui 3 or 4 times a week...

Yeah I've certainly noticed that the people on this forum can sometimes be a bit... special (read: they're a bunch of rich spoiled kids, but I love 'em nevertheless).

I resent this comment. Just because I personally refuse to purchase PAL games because they come with these classification labels, or PAL PS2 games because they come in blue cases, doesn't mean I'm anal about my purchases.

Hi guys, long time no see. Been really busy lately!

Could you update me on the status of these two ports?
When are they coming? Will they come as XBLA or full release?
Worldwide or only JAP?

They may be localized.

Not XBLA, full release. DOJ is probably coming in January.

Thankyou so much!

Im not really concerned about localization tho...what worries me the most is if the JAP versions would be region-free or not.

I guess wait and see is the best answer...but I remember an e-mail was written to ask for region-free

:?: A wee bit off topic but, I just have to ask, what's the lowest resolution the 360's can output? Has anyone successfully gotten it plugged into a low res cab? Can it be "JAMMA-fied" in any way?

To the best of my knowledge JP games are pretty much never region free...a fair amount of US releases will work on a JP console, but not so much the other way around.

Also, according to P-A the release date for DOJ is still Christmas, unless there's an announcement I/they missed.

It can do 480i, so you could hook it up to a 15KHz cab right? But you'd probably be better off hooking it up to a 31KHz cab in 480p.

I have a 360 set up in a high-res cab. Video and sound output are easily sorted (official vga cable, my cab takes rca in on the audio amp). Controls are a bit of a pain, because you have to hack a control pad; cant use a normal usb device like you can with ps3.

Dunno if 480i would work correctly on a low-res cab. I know I wouldn't want to be sitting that close to an interlaced screen, anyway.

I like the sound of that. I have a high res cab (horisontal screen) and two low res cabs. If both Ketsui and Death Smiles get localized I will probably upgrade my EGRET II to a high res chassis. Although, running interlaced 480 Raiden III from PC looks really good on my EGRET II.

you might want to do what I'm doing.... there are devices known as an "extron emotia". all you have to do it feed it 480p via the 360's vga cable and it will turn the signal to 240p and output via RGB. Hook it up to low res compatible monitor and it'll look just like it was suppose to (assuming these ports don't have filtering ect, even with the filtering it still looks better than before) with no lag.

I've done this with DC ports and own 2 of these little machines..... they can be found cheap on ebay. scroll down on page 14 of this thread to see a pic of what the results looks like.
Damn Tim, you know there are quite a few Americans out there who still lives in tents due to this shitty economy, and you're dropping loads on a single game which only last 20 min. Do you think it's fair? How much did you spend this time?

Faux lo-res is perfectly doable on the 360 (on a CRT at least). Konami did a great job with XBLA Symphony of the Night, which lets you remove the smoothing filter with a result that looks identical to the PS1 original.

Similarly, one of the filtering options in Raiden Fighters Aces - I think it's 'nearest neighbour', but I'm too lazy to fire it up to double check - replicates the lower res look very effectively.

no it doesn't it's still interlaced at 480i... it's interlaced. it's not in 240p with scanlines intact.

some folks don't care about the scanlines and I can see that point of view, I like them though and it does look different.

they could do it via a fake scanline option also like the sega ages PS2 games... but I know they won't be that kind.

A quick question for you - how do you remove scanlines from a CRT SD display?

You buy an upscaler, or you don't.

you have the signal interlaced.... (480i) is the textbook answer.
