Daioujou BLEX and others will be localized
Yes.
That's according to the 5PB rep at the DDPDOJBLEX and Thunderforce VI event today in Osaka. He says they haven't signed on the dotted line with the company yet but it will be officially announced 'at some point'. He said they will be trying to do the same for Ketsui and Deathsmiles.
Also, DDPDOJBLEX has slowdown reproduced within it (noticeable after destroying the rotating tower thing on the first part of stage 1) and they are working hard to maintain slowdown and not get rid of it.
Finally Piper is super easy to chain with given that she's always hypered. Full chained the stage with little effort.

Yeah played both.
DOJBLEX felt the same as arcade Black Label. Only thing that felt a little different was the EX shot, which felt heavier, like if you tapped shot it seemed like you would get 2 or 3 hits whereas in the arcade version you could tap shot and get 1. Maybe that will get ironed out.
TFVI looked fun to me, and the level design was pretty well thought out. Could not really see what Famitsu was bitching about...but I guess we'll all be able to judge for ourselves on the 30th.
I took video of both games and will try to up it in within the next week.

Hey, at least you have Geometry Wars 2, Ikaruga HD, Rez HD, and Earth Defense Force 2017.spineshark wrote:I'm afraid I'm still going to have to consider my NTSC-U 360 a failure until I hear that someone is bringing over Otomedius

so how did it look as is then? was it tate'd when you played it? my major concern is did it look like there was a bunch of filtering going on?It was a demo, so unfortunately there weren't any options that I could see.
Damn Tim, you know there are quite a few Americans out there who still lives in tents due to this shitty economy, and you're dropping loads on a single game which only last 20 min. Do you think it's fair? How much did you spend this time?

Still if these games get localized you are missing out on RFA and Raiden IV. Also you will have to wait even longer to get them.
For Otomedius, I haven't played the game but the gameplay-videos on the jp marketplace look very nice imo.
The best original shooter on XBLA is Omega Five imo.

Aegis Wing is awful and Earth Defense Force is a shitty FPSVorpalEdge wrote:You forgot Aegis Wing and Space Giraffe.Zweihander wrote:Hey, at least you have Geometry Wars 2, Ikaruga HD, Rez HD, and Earth Defense Force 2017.

505 games might be slow as well. For example Aksys have released Battle Fantasia in the US already but it's not due out in PAL regions until June next year according to Play.comhirounder wrote:Hm, will believe it when it gets official. The only hope for us in PAL lands is 505 Games, but they've been quiet lately with new shooter releases.

The US versions wouldn't be region free either so that they don't step on 505 Games' toes. Just like the US version of Battle Fantasia which works on US and JPN 360s but not PAL.
Ketsui-The last of the manly cave shooters.
Yes, but 505 publishes lots of obscure JP titles that never end up seeing US market. Earlier this year they published A Train HX for 360 in Europe which gives me hope they might be on some other exclusive JP 360 stuff aswell.Geezer wrote:505 games might be slow as well. Although the A Train localisation was really poor - they cheaped out on the manual, which effectively made the game unplayable for anybody who hadn't already played a previous game in the series.
Not such an issue with shmups, obvs, but a sign of how 505 have really gone downhill over the last couple of years.

Actually, in a crooked way this isn't such good news. Now I'm totally having doubts as to getting a Japanese xbox and games (this shit is expensive, after all), but what if they don't release them in the US (and even then, do I have to get an American xbox?) after all? Plus I don't want to wait another year or more until I can finally play Ketsui and Death Smiles cuz I'm a filthy consumer whore.
