USD Strenghtening...

Post by KindGrind »

CAD plumetting. 15% in 3 weeks, quite a drop. Looks like I'll have to sell before buying stuff in the future... I'm sure I'm not the only one :)

Yeah, I noticed that. Any change in the standings between USD and EUR or GBP (or CAD, which I don't think about much but have a bit of) makes me wistful. I end up hanging onto it in any case.

that's because the EUR/GBP is falling. it's more that the USD is almost staying still at this point

Yeah, I don't have enough euromoneys or GBPz to sell to make it worthwhile, and in any case the point where I wanted to do that was months ago.

Bingo. Or maybe falling much more slowly. 97yen to the dollar sucks a very sour brand of nutsack.

To buy 1 USD I recently only had to pay .98$-1$ CAD. Having to pay 1.25$ for it now sucks big time. Especially on huge purchases...

MSN breaks it down for the simpletons . . . and me.

As a new starting busnises inside my busnises which is labeling clothing for the small busnises, I am doing ok I think. Lots of people being laid off or getting pay cuts are deciding to go it alone and start there own busnises.

its going to be "hairy" for the next five years. so get used to it.

Crap, I'd been getting used to $2 = £1. It's down to $1.60 now. This is going to start annoying me on R1 anime imports.

Sorry Brits/Euro types, I'm loving it though.

Who said this crisis wasn't engineered at the start?

(yeah, yeah, I'm actually ashamed we aren't being good world citizens, but I'll try to make up for it by buying some stuff from you.)

Yeah there's no room for atlas underneath the difficult world. Put it this way; capital can't do lasting good where it isn't, is the upshot. The heave-ho to doing good by doing well.

not selling stuff that crashes your economies?

Although, it's a bit of a stretch to see how we could have caused, for instance, the recession in Iceland, nor do they blame us for it.

Christ, Sven, the kronor is taking a serious beating, too!

Rather simple in our case why it's going down. Among other things, oil barrel is down, so are metals... Historically our dollar moves with the price of these things.

Famous economist J.K. Galbraith's grandson was on NPR tonight and said that he's actually more worried about Europe due to the regulatory system there resembling, his words, more the one in 1920s America.

I admit I'm not happy with how much money it's going to take to patch up our system, but I'm not afraid about it. Uncle Sam has lots of confidence throughout the world.

Wait what? People who don't understand the economy always like to hold that one up as the only recourse.

I'm all for a war against the people who started this nonsense (although regulation and fines would be a much superior option).
