Sigma Raijin +5v woes
Can't figure this shit out. I modded a Raijin w/ an LS-30 to play rotary games. I bought Ikari, played it. It worked fine. Got Battlefield, and it was fucked. However, it was also fucked on my AV7000, so I'm not too bothered. However, Midnight Resistance plays fine on my AV7000 but not on my Sigma.
Symptoms:
W/ RGB out, if I adjust the +5v it works great... as long as I don't have the audio jack plugged in. Once I plug that in, I get the same distortion I get when +5v is too low.
Is there any other knob on the unit to adjust the picture? Anyone ever heard of this before? Simply not enough juice?

Sorry GP, I can't help you out with that rotatary joystick problem as I don't have that particular setup. Perhaps another fellow shmupper can help in this matter. I do recall seeing two different versions of the Data East rotatary 8-way joysticks: an octagonal one and a rounded shaped one. I personally like the octagonal ones better...gives the player better grip as opposed to the rounded shaped ones. ^_~

Hey GP! I almost bought one of those AV7000, and have decided to build my own. Should be done in a few weeks. Will post pics, maybe if your nice i will build you one. JROK component anyone? Hell yes. Parts on the way.
BTW get a multi tester on that PSU, sound a little unstable to me (hell, does anyone know if they are regulated). Also i dont know if Sigma's support -5V. Look to see if the board requires this. There is a new thread over at NG about -5 boards.

And GP, could you please post a picture/drawing of your setups. Also is there any difference if the controllers are not plugged in ?

rtw: I will get some pics tonight. To get Midnight Resistance working, I had to adjust the +5v w/ the audio unplugged. It worked for Ikari right out of the box. I don't know if these are the same hardware or not.

YOu mean on the 7000? NOt tried. And obviously can't on the Raijin. Also is there any difference if the controllers are not plugged in ?

GP, All three games you listed are of different hardware types.
Have you got a multimeter, if not buy one please!
I meant that you should try the game without the rotatry sticks plugged into the PCB.
How is sound connected to your Supergun ?

No. My friend across the street w/ the tool box of doom is back in Europe now visiting family. I will have him come over at some time.rtw wrote:Have you got a multimeter, if not buy one please!
Ah, yes. I tried that w/ the same results.I meant that you should try the game without the rotatry sticks plugged into the PCB.
Regular computer audio cable (headphone Jack on the Raijin). I could get regular audio out of the S-Video jack... that might be a solution. A bad one, but might work. How is sound connected to your Supergun ?

If you own an arcade PCB you should also invest in a multimeter the two go hand in hand
What happens if you plug in earphones ?
A regular 4 pin S-VIDEO does not have audio, only luma and chroma.
Anyone have any schematics on these things ?
