No idea, but that's hella cool. I also would totally play that on my cellphone if I could, though I can't imagine any cellphone game ever controlling particularly well, and so I think I would get frustrated pretty quickly. Besides, no phone is ever going to match a cab, console or PC, though games like this come close to handheld gaming platforms...

From what I've heard, I don't think you're missing much. Though the new Cave cell phone game 'Switch' sounds intriguing, like a cross between a browser RPG and a shooter.

The so-called "micro transaction" buzzword is where the big money to be made...and if it fills Cave's coffers, that's good enough for them. ^_~

The cell phone screen must be pretty big for a cell phone screen.

i cant be bothered logging on to the site, as the agreement terms are ridiculously long but you buy them in groups of something.. you get some credits when you get the game, but it doesnt seem worth it as keitai vursor keys are just as bad as any other celphone.. looks pretty but just not worth it for the money...

They are all crap.

However, you have options. If you're going to play the games regularly, you can pay a monthly fee and play them all (as long as they're compatible w/ your phone... lots of compatibility issues though).

Once again, they all suck massive dick. Nobody is missing anything.

For its platform, the keitai port of ESPGaluda 2 looks (and for that matter, sounds) relatively good in action from the Youtube videos. It's a shame about the cursor keys however- shame there's no special Neo-Geo Pocket Color type mini-stick for cell phones.

Paying a monthly fee to play them all doesn't sound too bad. It would be a far cry from having 360 or PS3 (hell, even PSP) versions, however. PSP has the same 32 MB RAM limit as PS2, so I'd be willing to settle for some graphics compromises and downsampled sound there as long as it plays the same as the PCB.

If Ketsui were being ported to PSP instead of PS2, I think the required compromise would've been a less bitter pill. You'd expect more of a console version- which has to be what made Mihara can the PS2 version.
Kinect? KIN NOT.

Games run at like 3fps. And of course, the keypad controls.

Ewww. Shame on you, Cave.
I expected the keypad controls to be an issue (along with hard to see bullets because of the small screen), but 3fps is so lame. >_>

If the GBA SP and the GBA Micro can play some games at 60fps, wouldn't be better to develop such a cool Cave portable shmup app for said hardware? They both already have dedicated d-pad controls and action buttons in place. (Of course, overclocking the GBA's CPU will result in shorter battery life...that is a given.)

they wouldnt develope for such machines, since they need to milk users with their fucked up microtransaction shit... and even then, the PSP and the NDS are capable of doing it (the microtransaction thing, i mean)... so its just that they dont fuckin care about those plattforms.
