Astro Tripper --- Warning it's an arena shmup!

Post by ZOM »

Like you've probably guessed from the thread title, I'm not to fond
of arena shmups but this one actually looks like fun.

There's a vid on GT:

I would love to see what other fellow shmuppers opinions are.

This is more Defender clone that arena shmup. Video looks like it could actually be good.

Looks like a sequel to PomPom's excellent Space Tripper (PC).

This looks quite good for what it is. The smaller the arena of an arena shoooter the better the game will be, in my opinion. Space Tripper was quite fun too.

Looks like Space Tripper somehow managed to slip under my radar...

I think I'll try out Space Tripper first.

Surprised to be really impressed by that - and it's coming to PSN - excellent news!

EDIT: Free Space Tripper demo download for MAC here!

EDIT 2: And for Windows here!

Both links appear to be from reputable sites and all above board...

As a MACtwat I haven't had a chance to try it, but if it doesn't work google had plenty of options, which all appear to download from the Pom Pom Games site, but strangely, the Pom Pom site itself doesn't have anything about Space Tripper...

Looks like they changed it from Space tripper to Astro Tripper:

Nope, it's a new one:
Astro Tripper is a furious shoot-em-up experience inspired by the painful, knuckle busting experiences of years gone by.
An evolution of PomPom's 2001 award winning game, Space Tripper.
