Okay, I got a Japanese 60GB PS3

This was the dealmaker:

Hopefully there'll eventually be a few more PS3 shooters (other than Super Stardust HD).

That's funny, coming from someone who likes shoot 'em ups.

Yeah, they don't make 2D shooters anymore.

What, you mean real console exclusives that aren't arcade ports?

Well, there's always Linux & Mame, which PS3 can run without requiring any modifications. And those USB Saturn pads feel really nice.

That's cool, at least. Still pretty pricy for a console-ised MAME option though, especially when modded xbox's can be found pretty cheaply on eBay still. Frankly, I'd rather be buying a ps3 due to seemingly lower fail rate and with no need to go through all that region locking hoo-ha. However, with none of the flashy new shooters that x360 offers and only a couple of shaky Robotron clones to sample on the shooting end, I can't really justify all that money just for backwards compatability.

This'd be your response to the 360 thread then, Ceph?

Seriously man, can you not see how tiresome this is becoming?

Unfortunately, the PS2 Saturn pads don't work on the PS3.
Feedback will set you free.
