Only on very rare occasions, and never more than one drink...and it's almost never just alcohol, it's just got some in it. I pretty much only qualify as a partaker of alcohol on a technicality, heh heh.

These drug fuelled threads are pretty popular eh?

I don't drink as much as I used to - but that's only because I'm so damn busy all the time. I dislike drinking on weekdays because hangovers at work suck, which puts me at odds with the rest of... the UK who are basically raging alcoholics.

I still do go for the odd drink after work, maybe a pint once a week. However if something is on, like a birthday or a night out celebrating something, or even a holiday, I get absolutley fucking bladdered and love it.

never have, never will. and no, not even on my 21st birthday (which is in approx. 7 months). I have a lot of moral and philosophical issues with drinking any substance that changes your brain chemistry (NOT religious issues, I'm an atheist anyway). It's also a very strong personal conviction to live my entire life avoiding alcohol. If anyone tried to trick me or force me into drinking I would hurt them. Seriously.

A few months ago I was drinking 2 beers about 4 nights a week. Enough to feel it, but not enough to really be drunk. I haven't been drinking much at all lately, though, despite having some fantastic stuff in my fridge. In any case, I don't get proper drunk very often.

I don't really drink at bars too often. Most places around here don't serve anything good, and I'm not the most sociable person anyway. But I have been going to the bar across the street almost every Monday since I moved into my apartment. Half price pizza + Two Hearted Ale on tap + within walking distance = win.

I mostly drink stouts, porters, and IPAs. A couple of my favorites are:

Great Lakes:
- Nosferatu
- Blackout Stout
- Eliot Ness (I normally don't like lagers too much but this one is fantastic)
- Edmund Fitzgerald

Bell's:
- Two Hearted Ale
- Hopslam
- Third Coast Ale (NOT Third Coast Beer, which was kinda bleh).

I don't drink wine and I rarely drink liquor.

I never really understood beer at all. I mean, I know some people think it tastes good, and I guess there are a few beers that I can stand, but if you want to get drunk, why not just just get something hard and start chugging? Then again, I guess not everyone likes getting totally smashed all the time.
Dark beer is an acquired taste. Acquiring that taste makes weaker beers taste even worse, which sucks because watery piss beers are often the only thing served at bars, parties, weddings, etc.

That "current favorite albums" thread seems to indicate that a lot of people here share similar taste in music. I don't follow that thread, though, so maybe it's just a few people posting in it often?

I finally tried Duvel. It was good, but I don't like the style of beer. I still have two bottles left, though, so I want to try it again. I was kind of put off by the carbonation the first time, now I know what to expect.

Seriously? That game was kind of fun the first couple times I played it (when I was underage), but it drags on forever once you get down to one or two cups.

Yeah I got really annoyed with drunk people before I started drinking. On top of their generally obnoxious behavior, they would always try to get me to drink. It seems like people push it less when they know that you do drink sometimes.

I can hardly stand the taste of the beers I had (though I somewhat enjoyed the beer I had in China). If it's cold and I'm thirsty then beer can be a pretty decent time, but usually not.

I like sweet stuff, so stuff like Mike's is my favorite. I don't like getting shitfaced, and even just "feeling it" isn't a hot thing for me, so I don't go for it all that often. Still, if I'm ever really nervous about something and need to get to sleep some alcohol usually helps.

Also, the wine we have for communion at church is pretty much amazing and I sneak extra whenever I can.

Yes. Beer, lots of beer! I love beer, Kirin Ichiban being my favourite.

Oh and in winter I like to drink warm sake mixed with green tea & honey. :)

Get some skills . Like with any other game, I just love the competitive atmosphere. As long as you have the right people to play with, it's pretty awesome. The feeling I get when I make a cup is just so goooood.

The weird thing is that most people are completely fine with it, it was almost exclusively my closest circle of friends who were constantly pushing it and generally being annoying about it. It didn't really bother me that much at first but as they continued it over the years it started to get extremely annoying.

Eventually they pretty much gave up as it almost never comes up anymore, although it took 7 or 8 years for them to drop it.

After 4-5 beers my stomach gets totally destroyed, which is why I stick to red or white wine.

Depends how people define 'problem'. I'm sure I drink a lot less then a lot of folks here (1-3 beers a day, sometimes a shot of whiskey) and put it down as a problem; first coz its expensive (I like expensive beer), and second because I know I have an addiction. Most people don't mark this as a problem though. No, beer isn't destroying my life or anything.
Octopod wrote:Hmm, i drink alot of PBR.

Yeah CMoon, I guess I wouldsay that if you feel like you need something everyday then its a problem. i'll everynow andthen just decide take a month or so offof everything. No cigaretts oranything, just to keep myselfin check and majke sure can do it easily. But then I just go back, andI gess people call that binging, which isalso appearently a problem, so i don't know...
