Darius R: Is it a remake?

I went to E for All last sunday and looking for some games to buy, I found Darius R. Upon playing it, it looks very similar to the first Darius and therefore assume it is a remake. I tried searching for info only but found nothing. Is this a remake or port of the first Darius game?

If by remake you mean shittification, then yes, Darius R is a remake

Yeah, the music seems to mostly be recycled Darius tunes from other games and they sound like crap unfortunately. The game is really easy too. If you have a pulse and can spell Darius, you should be able to 1cc it with a few tries. It's only 5 stages long.

Can you adjust the difficulty? Gradius Galaxies is easy on Normal but on Hard it's a decent challenge. I will probably get Darius R because I have to have portable Darius.
