Wouldn't you need a proper rotatary knob spinner-based controller to play Arkanoid on the 360?
I recall playing with the original Taito Arkanoid cabinet back in the day and the spinner knob felt different compared the spinner knob on a Tempest cabinet (longer free-wheeling spinning factor if spun superfast due to use of weighted flywheel). Perhaps the mechanical gearing used for the optical encoders of both arcade PCBs were different in that retrospect. ^_~
Psikyo's arcade Arkanoid-ish game, Gunbarich PCB, uses a digital-based joystick setup rather than a spinner knob...it's seems to be finely tuned for that purpose alone. Awesome gameplay.
Atari Games' Off The Wall PCB can use either optical spinner knob or digital joystick setup...spinner knob is more intuitive and allows for higher scores overall than if you were to use a joystick. ^_~
I love Arkanoid DS! Yeah, I wish the dial were included in the North American release, but I can still play the game fine without it. I played the original Arkanoid on our Mac Plus and just used the mouse and that worked fine as well.
Diddo with Doh It Again! on the SNES.
And 120 stages just sounds awesome!
