Final Fantasy VII remake for the PS3??...
Just a rumor I heard at work, or is this true? I've always wondered why there wasn't a PSP remake, considering how fast Tactics on the PSP flew off our shelves last fall.

Perhaps holding the record of most returned game ever is the reason why Square are hesitant to remake.

Just murmurings since the ancient teK demo...
It's neat to think they already have most of the necessary 3d geometry for the world in place. Should only cost them like $400000 million billion to do.
I'll ttlly get this right after the FF6 64 remake. Ttlly.
Would like a new Final Fantasy that is actually like what the series once was for less than a kabillion dollars for development. That might be relevant to my interests.
Dudes, I am not looking forward to slaughtering Neo Exgoluxmus like the lamb he is for the tenth time.

You'll get your true FF6 remake, no settling for another crummy remix for you. It'll be on the DS. When they can get to it. They just finished 4. So, expect to wait about eight years.brokenhalo wrote:i hope this comes out just so that they make obscene amounts of money and decide to redo other FF titles. a ps3 re-imagining of FF6 would be the shit.

You're almost right. In fact, there is only another which still retain some worth after experiencing VI. And it's XII. Although for completely different reasons. Then again, anything ever touched by Matsuno is worthy. I hope for mankind that he'll return to games someday.Momijitsuki wrote:I'm a member on a Final Fantasy forum, and I enjoy dispelling all of the rumors.
I honestly can't stand FFVII-- well, any of them after VI. Should have died after the SNES era, in my opini--*is shot by rabid obsessive fans*
the tech demo would lead me to say it would happen but the fact we have heard nothing about it at all would make me think otherwise. SE are not shy about pimping there games out months/years in advance

Sakimoto said in an interview at the end of last year that he's currently working on a project with Matsuno. I personally hoping that it's somehow a new Ogre Battle series game.Turrican wrote: You're almost right. In fact, there is only another which still retain some worth after experiencing VI. I'm not going to hold my breath on that one though.
Hmm, I don't see that happening, as Square-Enix has bought the Ogre rights. But whatever it'll be, I'll get it.Dremark wrote:Sakimoto said in an interview at the end of last year that he's currently working on a project with Matsuno. Honestly, it's depressing how low the numbers of RPG's on the PS3 are, compared to the PS2. I know it's only been out two years, but I hope it gets a lot more RPG's. I don't know that it will ever get as many as the 360.

That's the same for most Square-enix games these days.sven666 wrote: all the characters look and sound gay, nothing is cool anymore

I loved ff7 put aside the confusing story bits here and their, so much content, side quest, bosses, minigames, secrets, a whole bunch of towns to visit etc. most other final fantasy and rpg's dont conatin as much as ff7. dragon quest 8 and the xenosaga was one of the last few rpgs ive enjoyed nearly as much.
