do you smoke? not cigarettes...hint hint
now i wish everybody who took the poll was responding...
im curious to know if many of the non-smokers simply dont have it available or if they just dislike it....
where i am(canada) it is everywhere, and if you havent encountered it by high school you are hiding under a rock....
plus i think the 'war on drugs' in the US is a bit of a turn off for many.....its illegal here but not really enforced on a personal use basis....
my god.....what would americans do if all of a sudden they made alcohol illegal

I enjoy it, but I don't really find it all that social. It amplifies my normal, sober urges to intensely focus on things that I find interesting, and the things that I enjoy are often "buzz kills" for the people I smoke with -- classical music, shmups, books, old spy movies/shows, etc.
If my friends want to play Wii, for instance, to an extent I can enjoy watching them play and react to one another, but I will actively dislike the terrible game they are playing.

im not very social either way.......sober or otherwise.....
i have friends, but it takes a special occasion to get me to go out......i much prefer being at home with my games, or my g/f or at the gym kicking the shit out of something
i find social interaction very taxing
and for what mufunyo said...i too prefer hash but its rare around here these days.....
as for dutch weed...its good but the best weed in the world is grown in canada.....
also....how the hell do you play tgm on weed????

me from a really old thread:
"The repetition doesn't bother you at all, and you just soak up all the awesome atmosphere. The third boss in Gradius II, the music starts and you expect him to scroll in from the right but he comes from the left and his tentacles fold in just in time for you to get to his other side. I guess it has that effect, making the clichéd seem like genius."
Haven't done that in a long time, and I've never went out and bought some just for myself. I do like the sense of wonder that it gives you back though.

As someone who has done both extensively (but only drinks now due to the consequences of getting caught w/ the other) I can assure you jonny5 is right. Do I really need to list all the shitty things about alcohol *other* than the drinking and driving nightmare? They are ample, and do not happen when you're high.Skykid wrote:Disagree Jonny my man.jonny5 wrote:
i think weed smoking is far more consequence free than drinking
just my opinion tho
That's not to say that weed can't be abused. The consequences of such are far less detrimental though when compared to alcohol. Shit, I blazed up daily in college. Got pretty fucked up the first few years after too!

Read Me. I quit after a pack and a half a day for 9 years. And I quit in one of the most smoke-friendly places on the planet.nicotine.....man if i could quit smoking i would be sooooo happy.....
This I actually don't buy though. Most drugs are not physically addictive... heroin is one of the few. Nicotine is definitely not. Read the book above for the proof.alcohol is physically addictive

No, sorry.
People only get into this shit because they care enough about what others think of them to start it in the first place. Peer pressure FTW?
Nobody says "oh man cigarettes look delicious, I HAVE to have one!" *tries it* "Oh man this is great *cough* I love it *cough*. Is everyone looking at me while I puff it? Damn I hope so..."

Have you ever heard of delirium tremens? I mean, people have died from alcohol withdrawal. It fucks with your GABA receptors to the point where they don't even work anymore. It's been scientifically documented. Look it up on wikipedia or something, I'm not just making this shit up...GaijinPunch wrote:This I actually don't buy though. I've never smoked an actual cigarette or weed, most people think I'm a smoker though, which I find funny.
I haven't tried any other drugs and I only drink like twice a year.

jpj beat you to it, dudeszycag wrote:i heard....if u smoke too much weed...u start typing like this....is that true????

I was completely ambivalent to weed until having to listen to my future stepfather-in-law's braindead stoner theories about how The Establishment Is Killing Us All, and watching him smoke his life down to WoW and football over the past year. Now my attitude toward it has become relatively negative.Ozymandiaz1260 wrote:I'd really like to know what people who either don't do or are strait up against drugs think about the subject.

As someone who likes to draw, hallucinogens are the only drugs I've ever seen the point of (recreationally speaking). But I've never known anyone who was into that sort of thing, am a miserly bastard who would rather spend money on nonconsumables, and at present have too many responsibilities to consider experimentation anyway.
video games suck

if you read my earlier posts i said i dont even smoke much anymore....
i was just curious if others did.....
and my typing has nothing to do with drug use.....im physically addicted to periods and i find capital letters extremely intimidating

ok that clinches it GP...my girlfriend used the very same book to quit and swears by it......my chiropractor also recommended it...GaijinPunch wrote:Read Me. now to hear you recommend it as well has me of the mind to quit this weekend.....
hmmm......ive been meaning to quit for a while.....
thanx for the tips GP...cross your fingers for me
The first time people meet me, they usually get one of two impressions:
1.) I would never even think about trying alcohol or drugs as long as I live
2.) I'm a giant pothead
I guess it depends on how professional and polite I am at the time.
I drink small amounts of alcohol fairly regularly (maybe 2 strong beers 3 or 4 nights a week, not as much lately though) and never smoke weed. I've tried it a couple times, didn't really like or dislike it. I don't even really remember what it was like to be honest.
Obligatory xkcd

I'm totally the same way. The worst part is that extroverted people simply don't get this and will give you shit about it.jonny5 wrote:im not very social either way.......sober or otherwise.....
