wow. Simply wow. The second track is awesome. The drums sound good, the guitar sounds amazing... Looking forward for the OST.

The first track has an indubitably RayForce feel, which doesn't surprise me since Tamayo did work in the RayForce series.

Well, now this looks far better than it seemed previously. Absolutely waiting for this one.

Another note: is it my impression or the ship seems to be able to graze bullets in the trailer? Dunno if this was mentioned before.

I just ordered this. :D Hopefully it’s good. An old style hori shooter would be really refreshing.

I'm a little disspointed at the music right now. No Hyakutaro Tsukumo is a damn shame, and a super let down for me. But it's still Thunder Force. And I'll definietly pick it up anyway just to add to the collection.

Does anyone know why Factory Noise & AG didn't do the soundtrack?

My theory is that Sega didn't want him after his taking part in the Broken Thunder debacle (not to mention releasing music under the TF name that had nothing to do with TF).

That's most likely what happened. It makes sense. Still a shame, though, cause it's not going to feel like the Thunder Force experience we all know and love without their sound. That's how I feel about it.

Every time I click on this thread, I hope somebody posted news of a US release.

Disappointed once again.

why not just get the import one with a swap magic or something..... if you can't play japanese games there is ALOT more your missing out on other than TF6.
Damn Tim, you know there are quite a few Americans out there who still lives in tents due to this shitty economy, and you're dropping loads on a single game which only last 20 min. Do you think it's fair? How much did you spend this time?

I hope Thunderforce 7 won´t take another ten years for relase
on XBox 1440. :D :D

And how about Aeroblaster 2, Wings of War 2 ( Gynoug 2),
a new Aleste game, R-Type Leo 2 ( I know - the chances
that hell will freeze are bigger ), Elemental Master 2, Elimante
Down 2, Blazing Star 2, Pulstar 2.

I may do that, but my budget doesn't currently have room for $60 shmups, and I would expect a US release to be around $30.

your
you are = you're

damn, that annoys me.

And likewise, I keep expecting news of a NA release.
It makes no sense at all that that this hasn't been picked up by a US publisher. But knowing Sega I should expect a lack of sense.
Being a big name series Sega may want a lot of money from a NA publisher. And who is going to a buy a PS2 game in 2009 for $50-60, besides us fanatics?
Unless it could get ported and released at $20 or $30 in NA, I don't even think stores would give it shelf space.

also: a lot is two words, not "alot", but that isn't so annoying as your/you're since there isn't two entirely different meanings as in the case of your/you're

"Operation 3"? Do they count Broken Thunder as part of continuity? I noticed that the Phoenix bares more than just a passing similarity to the Broken Thunder ships.
The biggest unanswered question is where is the money? [1CCS]

I didn't even really think about that. I'm so use to buying imports I kinda forget stuff like this is around 20 to 30 most the time.

Ported? Sega did release Yakuza 2 recently, so who knows. Wouldn't count on it.

Mods,

Can't we have three Thunderforce VI threads ? ;D

. Thunderforce VI News
. Thunderforce VI Localization
. Thunderforce VI Pricing

I would reduce the size of this thread somewhat.

Fanatics?

I'd gladly buy U.S. published shmups and save money, but problem is they (shmups) hardly ever come here...and even if they do its a year or so later. So if importing them is the only way I can get hold of my fav genre of game, then that's what I'll do.

It amazes me how some people complain about paying an extra $20/30 bucks to import a PS2 shmup but you go in their basement and these same people have 3k worth of Cave PCB's and other cabs perfectly preserved down there.

I'd love to own cabs one day but can't right now.
I have a pretty decent collection of Neo-Geo carts and hardware I bought when the economy was better...since since the recent meltdown importing titles is the cheapest way I can enjoy my hobby right now.

Eaxactly. And anyway, I don't see why the age and technical capability of the system should matter with regard to the price. It should be about the game's quality.

I think $50 - 60 on import is a bargain for a relatively obscure, distinct, and potentially brilliant PS2 game when some generic mindless 3D macho shooter for the 360 or PS3 costs £49.99 in the UK (about $86). That said - I could use that logic to argue that game price should reflect game quality, which would be impossible to enforce and mean I'd have to pay a fortune for good games! Unless the better a game is the cheaper

Thanks for the info, rtw. Though the graphics look considerably PS2 as it should be, the gameplay looks fantastic! :)

Like someone else said in some other thread, they are rarely the same people

But yeah, there's lots of silly whining here, especially about region locks etc.. you just got to deal with the situation

The new video shows 2 bosses that seems to be a "remake" version of the ones found in TFV. B3 (Barbaric-Berserk-Beast) derived from A3 (Armament Armed Arm) and Vasteel Nocht, derived from Rynex/Vasteel Original, but they still look very cool. Going to preorder this.

Since you referenced me, I will respond to yours and others misunderstanding:
If you read more clearly you will see that my comments were in regard to the game being localized and distributed in North America.
Nowhere did I, nor anyone else from the last page of posts complain about paying $60.
The point being made is that the North American market will not support PS2 games at the same price as PS3 games.

Fanatics, such as those who browse a specialized forum dedicated to their niche genre of videogame, will of course have no problem paying full price for the imported version. (myself included - in case you didn't comprehend the "us" in my original statement)

Now this definitely looks great. Hoping the game will do well.
