Pretty cool. Good animation and surprisingly, good dubbing.

Funny how Guile's whole reason for fighting in SF2 was to kill Bison for killing Charlie and now he's all "Charliez ALIVES," but it's a fighting game, after all.

Yeah. Cool is right. I was always under the impression that Cammy wasn't in Street Fighter IV, guess she may show in the console release, looking forward to that. One thing I can say I'm not too fond of is Capcom acting like Street Fighter III didn't happen.

SFIV supposedly takes place between II and III. Yes, I know.

Which is just a bloody excuse to ignore 3. Based on the characters appearances in SFIV, it would make sense though.

And so if Street Fighter Five comes out, it would take place after the events of SF-III? That would seem like the logical path to take for Capcom to mend things chronologically, right? Of course, Capcom can take their Street Fighter franchise either forward or backwards however they like (i.e. like how the storylines of Jojo's Venture and it's sequel does in the manga by going back and forth era-wise).

I think it's just to take care of wanting to know what happens to the SF2 cast and a easy way to bring them back. besides, SF Zero took place after 1 but before 2...... I don't think they are trying to ignore 3 as much as bring back the SF2 cast..... b/c back then everyone bitched about 3's cast, but now folks are bitching about 2's cast.

they are gonna piss someone off no matter what, it's just the way it goes. ESPECIALLY with fighters. either way... I am looking forward to it.
Damn Tim, you know there are quite a few Americans out there who still lives in tents due to this shitty economy, and you're dropping loads on a single game which only last 20 min. Do you think it's fair? How much did you spend this time?

Topic hack for the win!

I played this in both Tokyo and Sydney but had a better impression here in Oz.

First 2 credits felt like the EX series, then I had the impression the game is somewhat different, a bit like they mixed super turbo with something else.

I have read online about the saving system, one of my opponents used to some good results but I wasn't aware of what exactly he was doing. Intuitively it is promising, though. For the Sydneyers, it's at the Galaxy in George street.

P.S. I thought it looked PC-ish, in fact it runs on Type-X
"The only desire the Culture could not satisfy from within itself was one common to both the descendants of its original human stock and the machines [...]: the urge not to feel useless."

Boy's, you're starting to sound like me - over critical! There wasn't a whole lot to it, but as a teaser movie for a new street fighter, it wasn't bad.

Kernow, are you dissing the SF Animated movie?! How could you?

Never really been a fan of any SF anime, I don't know why. I prefer to just play the games and find out the story in the game. OMG chun li in the shower! I mean seriously nerds, come on lol ! :)

Ha ha - the shower is nothing, the fight she has with Balrog just after - now that's something!

To be honest, it's well cheesy. The script and voice acting brilliantly so.
But it's still the best fighting game anime out there by a long shot - some of the animation is brilliant.

Just don't watch the Japanese , EVER! (never thought I'd say that about an Anime).
The JP version sucks incredibly. The soundtrack in the western release changes the entire movie for the better.

I was under the impression that it worked like this

Street fighter 1
Alpha 1 and alpha 2 (kinda togther)
then Street fighter 2
then alpha 3 which kills off bison street (but then not becuase he is alive) fighter 4 then
street fighter 3

they brought goken back so i would like to know about that :-/ ?!

I thought it was SF1, all the alphas, SF2, SF4, SF3

Still doesn't really make sense why the alpha series is 'zero' in Japan though.

Yeah, I'd just rather watch other 'good' anime hehe ;)

its almost impossible to follow Street fighter game cannon since theres quite a number of endings which contradict eachother. you can just ignore the anime and comics since they have little or nothing to do with the games other than being a fan service.

well pretty much all the endings of SF alpha 3 kill off bison. You could say alpha3 and SF2 are pretty much the same thing. Just an update in graphics and powers and lower tier chararacters which are less important to the story like Fei long, blanka, Rainbow Mika, sakura

More than any sane person wants to know about the Street Fighter plot.

He came back to life. Of course, the best way to plot a prequel is to kill off a character who'll be important later on, then say "oh he got resurrected betwen games."

I like SNK's stories better. I hear in one of the games, the tournament is really a trap!

but there was no refrence to him dying in SF2 it was only in Alpha 3 when they "killed him off" and they did kill him off he was incinrated by the psycho drive. so he is either a clone or he can reform his body (2nd one is most likley) its not an easy cannon to follow at all.

KOF is likley the best and easiest cannon to follow as they declare who won the tourniments from year to year and who done what at which time.

I'm pretty sure Shadowlaw made him a new body. I guess he existed as psycho energy until then? It's supposedly weaker, hence him having to walk instead of floating and teleporting.

It’s so they can focus on the SF2 characters, these are the most iconic to the series and the ones all fans and casuals alike will recognise. They don’t want launch with a massive character roster (mixture of balancing and being able to charge for future additions) or include a load of SF3 misfits your average 360 owner has never seen before.

Also: This is my first encounter with anyone who cares about fighting game storylines! I will study from afar.
